What’s Coming Out of Denny’s Diners HQ & Test Kitchen #DennysDiners

September 19, 2014 by Momstart 12 Comments

I had a great time at #DennysDiners HQ and Test Kitchen. They know how to cook and make delicious treats all year around. Did you know that they actually make changes to the menu every quarter and some of those changes include Holiday Features? YUM too. And sadly that’s all I can tell you about what’s coming up for this Holiday Season, It’s Good! SO keep an eye out for the new menu in October.

But rest assured there are still some really great items that you might not know are on the menu right now. I tried them when I was invited to the Denny’s Diners HQ and Test Kitchen last month with my other ambassador friends.

image

I have to say that I think I must have been living under a rock because I had no idea that Denny’s was making these delicious things called pancake puppies. I had some while I was in SC with Denny’s and vow that next time I take my family there I’m ordering some as an appetizer for the whole family to enjoy. It’s like having donuts they are so good. image

And I also tried The New Chicken Salad Sandwich and I loved it. I was really trying to only take a few bites out of everything because we were trying so many items on the menu, this I wanted to finish. It’s roasted seasoned chicken, celery, red grapes, toasted almonds and mayo. You can have it served with your choice of wavy-cut French fries, hash browns, seasonal fruit or dippable veggies.

Another item I can share with you is the Wild Caught Salmon and it was surprisingly really good. Fish is a tricky thing to cook and have the flavors come out and Denny’s accomplished it. Look at it, doesn’t it just make you want to dig right in?

I did finish the salmon!

Want to know what I learned about the brand?

Denny’s really wants to make their customers happy and remember that they are more than just a after 2:00 AM place to eat. They are an all day diner fit for families with a very versatile menu. They have a rewards program and kids eat free. For every 1 adult meal two kids can eat free on Tuesday’s from 4PM to 10PM. They understand the importance of children’s health by offering healthy options and are part of Kids Live Well AND as you know they support No Kids Hungry a charity I’m very fond of.

They also have a rewards program, a birthday grand slam, and special discounts for seniors.  So plan a trip to Denny’s and try their menu, see their specials and go often so you don’t miss any of the changes that might pop up. You’ll love what’s coming for the holidays!

Denny’s Dishes & Coupons TO End Childhood Hunger @NoKidHungry #DennysNKH #Dennysdiners

August 24, 2014 by Momstart Leave a Comment

Making sure that children don’t go hungry is a BIG deal to me. My husband’s family was homeless for a brief period of time. And they used food banks to eat, making me want to keep food banks as full as I can so I love to support brands that support the No Kid Hungry campaign.

A wholesome breakfast can jumpstart any day, as studies have known that kids who eat school breakfast are more apt to attend class, perform better on standardized tests and, as a result, are 20 percent more likely to graduate high school. In an effort to ensure that every child in the U.S. starts his or her day off right with nutritious, attainable meals, Denny’s (#DennysNKH) is teaming up with and raising funds for Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry® campaign, a national movement aimed at ending childhood hunger by connecting kids with healthy food where they live, learn and play.

From Aug. 15 through Sept. 30, nearly 1,600 Denny’s nationwide will sell coupons in support of No Kid
Hungry’s efforts to help the more than 16 million American children struggling with hunger. For a $3
donation, guests will receive $9 worth of coupons redeemable at participating Denny’s restaurants.
Every dollar donated helps feed a child up to 10 healthy meals.

In addition, guests are invited to contribute to the cause via two alternative means this year, including
making a monetary donation of their choice at dennys.com/nokidhungry; all who donate online will be
e-mailed a coupon for $5 off their next $20 meal at Denny’s. Customers can also pledge their support by
purchasing one of three exclusive No Kid Hungry campaign t-shirts – designed by Denny’s team
members in Texas, Nevada and Kentucky – for $10 each. T-shirts are produced by Booster, available at
dennys.com/nokidhungry and a portion of all sales goes directly to No Kid Hungry.

“Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry effort is by far one of our nation’s most important, most influential
and impactful campaigns aimed at ending childhood hunger in this country to-date, and Denny’s is
proud to be a partner in the movement for the fourth year in a row,” said Denny’s Chief Executive
Officer John Miller. “With one in five children struggling with hunger in the U.S., Denny’s remains
committed to No Kid Hungry and in the organization’s efforts to increase school breakfast participation
nationwide, thereby bettering our kids’ academic, health and economic futures.”

Since 2011, Denny’s has donated more than $1.4 million to the No Kid Hungry campaign. In order to
increase its impact this year, Denny’s is beginning its fundraising efforts, which includes online t-shirt
and in-unit coupon sales, a full two weeks ahead of most partners.

“We are grateful for Denny’s continued commitment,” said Billy Shore, co-founder of Share Our
Strength. “It matches the commitment of our nation’s teachers who see their students regularly coming
to school hungry and who know that academic success can be measured in meals—especially breakfast
in the school day. By dining out at your local Denny’s, pledging your support online or even just buying a
t-shirt, you’re helping every child get that most important meal of the day and making No Kid Hungry a
reality.”

Denny’s Diner Meets Atari: Greatest Hits Remixed #DennysDiners

July 1, 2014 by Momstart 15 Comments

This just came out today, Denny’s, America’s iconic family diner, and Atari®, one of the world’s most recognized publishers and producers of video game entertainment, have joined together to bring back a few classic arcade games, but with some unique twists. I remember back in the day when Atari was the only video game console. My cousins had one at their grandmother’s house and I was able to go to her house with them sometimes and play it. It was so fun.

This news pairs with Denny’s new “Greatest Hits Remixed” menu – which features a selection of the diner’s iconic dishes all with a new culinary spin – three of Atari’s most famous games, Asteroids®, Centipede® and Breakout®, have been remixed as “Hashteroids,” “Centipup” and “Take-Out.” Beyond just a new name, the games will feature diner elements, such as flying hash browns and syrup bottle shooters. All three games are available on the Denny’s mobile app for iPhone and Android devices.

Each of the new remixed games incorporates the diner items into play:

  • Hashteroids – You’re aboard the SS Denny’s Condiment Transport ship and the mission is clear: deliver 40 tons of condiments to the 4th planet in sector 7d.

  • Centipup – Once upon a time, a young boy named Danny came across a bottle of syrup and with just a slight squeeze the bottle’s sticky contents had the power to turn anyone or anything into a fried egg.

  • Take-out – A wall made entirely of delicious Denny’s breakfast items appears blocking all the take-out orders from their rightful owners. The only way to feed customers is to break down that wall!

The menu includes remixed dishes such as the Red White and Blue Slam, Baja Moons Over My Hammy and Tuscan Super Bird

Have a Fit Fare Celebration 24/7 with Denny’s Diner New Menu #giveaway #DennysDiners

June 30, 2014 by Momstart 52 Comments

I am a Denny’s ambassador and compensated for my time.

Denny’s isn’t just for pancakes and eggs in the morning! The family-friendly restaurant is open 24/7 to serve breakfast, lunch and dinner around the clock for you and your family. Choose from steaks, chicken, burgers, sandwiches, pies, eggs, pancakes, and waffles, it’s all there for you.

America’s diner that’s “always open” is the perfect place for your next celebration no matter what time of day. Not only do they have decadent options that might feel heavy at times but they also have a Fit Fare menu that I like to order off of to save on my calories. I’ve been doing a lot of calorie counting lately, trying desperately to lose weight and cooking more at home but we still like to eat out. So it makes me happy to see that restaurants like Denny’s are trying to make it easier on me by offering meals lower in calories.

The Fit Fare alternatives that are available at Denny’s have many options for you to choose from. You can enjoy them for under 550 calories, and they offer delicious alternatives that don’t compromise on taste, value or variety. They also have an online ‘Meal Calculator’ which provides you with an interactive way to mix and match menu items and customize a meal suitable for your own individual needs. With summer and vacation season upon us, I know many people are always after healthier alternatives just like me! I still have a month or two before I have to have that swimsuit body!

Here’s another reason to celebrate! Kids eat free on Tuesday nights from 4 to 10 PM with the purchase of an adult entrée of $4.00 or more. Denny’s is an affordable option for any family meal, with regular kids’ meal pricing at around $3.29.
