Family Party 30 Great Games Winter Fun Video Game for the Wii #giveaway

      http://www.d3press.us/files/Family%20Party:%2030%20Great%20Games%20Winter%20Fun/Box%20Art/30GG_WF_Wii_Front.JPG

D3 is about to release a brand new game, the newest installment of Family Party, 30 Great Games Winter Fun. It is exclusive to the Wii. I’ve played the Family Party: 30 Games Outdoor Fun game and it’s a great way to play a set of games as a family. I have never played this one but it looks great.

Avoid the cold and ski lift lines with Family Party: 30 Great Games Winter Fun from D3Publisher coming exclusively to Wii™ this February. Players do not have to be professional athletes to be the best in this game as Winter Fun offers a wide blend of winter themed activities featuring winter sports competitions, playground snow activities, and new brain freezing challenges. Family Party: 30 Great Games Winter Fun is under development by Tamsoft Corporation and is rated “E” for everyone by the ESRB.

About Family Party: 30 Great Games Winter Fun

Winter Fun will have your family playing together for hours on the Wii. Players can choose from over a dozen cute characters that are dressed in customizable winter attire. What’s great is that all four family members can play at one time. My husband wanted to stop at two kids because that makes a a family of four and there are only four controllers to each console, so now you know my family secret. 😉 Available for play is multiplayer co-op, for the first time ever in this franchise. Players will be inspired by the winter games, and all your favorites should be included. You can unlock even more games and challenges to continue achieving high scores and winning medals.

BanDai Action Figures for Ben 10 and Kamen Rider Review and #giveaway

      November 2, 2009 by Momstart 222 Comments

While on the trip with D3 Publisher, we were given a little bag full of toys. Then when we went to Papaya we were given a few more toys. The toys that Papaya gave us were Ben 10 Monsters and my daughter loves them. I was going to give the rest of the toys to my kids as Stocking Stuffers but my husband reminded me that they would make a good donation and my kids are actually under the age for them. But she really does enjoy playing with them.

In all of my writings of my trip with D3 Publisher I never included much about Kamen Rider. We actually got to meet the star of the TV Series and see his “extreme Martial arts” in action. He teaches other children how to do extreme martial arts. Below are a few examples of the toys that are from the TV Series Kamen Rider.

Ben 10 Video Game Review for the Wii

      November 2, 2009 by Momstart 482 Comments

Ben 10 Alien Force Vilgax AttacksD3 Publiser was kind enough to send me one copy of Ben 10 Alien Force Vilgax Attacks to donate, to keep (my husband’s Christmas present), and one to giveaway to a lucky reader. I must apologize because I did request the copy for my husband and that was not very nice of me. I mean, this was our favorite game out of the ones that we were able to preview. The graphics were the highest on the Xbox 360 and my husband is addicted to getting gamer points. Ok, not addicted but if he finds a game he enjoys then he has to get 100 percent completion in the on-line points. So, thank you D3 Publisher and Papaya for the copy of the game on the XBox 360.

Thoughts on the game so far

I was watching my husband play his Xbox 360 version of Ben 10 and he said it is perfect for the target audience. I was thinking what does that mean, he said, it’s for children ages 10 and up. As you play Ben’s uncle provides you with tips to tell you which monster to use to help you along and you have to constantly switch monsters to complete the game. Papaya designed this game with Cartoon Network and are very satisfied with it. It’s the first version of the game where you can use all 10 monsters. Changing monsters seems to flow and this game captivates my daughter because we were also given some toys. Papaya Studios gave Zoe the Purple Monster, we call him PM. I have no idea what his real name is. My husband told me but I can’t remember everything I’m supposed to blog about. Zoe loves her “PM”.

Ben 10 Ultimate OmnitrixOne of my favorite things about this part of the D3 Family Event Tour was that we took pictures in the Ben10 Jacket and wrist band. My son just loved the wrist band.

      Ben 10 Ultimate Omnitrix

You can purchase these wristbands from 5.00 to 50.00 depending on the amount of detail that you want in your band. The ones we played with are listed at Amazon.com for 20.00 and were a lot of fun. It was also nice because we now have a family photo. Family photos are very difficult to acquire.

      About Ben 10

Ben 10 is one of Cartoon Network’s most popular cartoon. Ben 10: Alien Force is an American animated television series created by Dwayne McDuffie and Glen Murakami and the studio "Man of Action" (a group consisting of Duncan Rouleau, Joe Casey, Joe Kelly, and Steven T. Seagle), and produced by Cartoon Network Studios. It is a sequel to Ben 10. Set five years after the original series, the storyline is notable for having matured the character and taking a darker tone, with more complex plots, less manicheism and sometimes more character’s death.

Five years after the events of the original series, 15-year old Ben Tennyson has returned to a normal, everyday life. His adventures done, Ben has taken off the Omnitrix and has grown from a young boy into a confident teenager. But the mysterious disappearance of Grandpa Max prompts him to wear the omnitrix then Ben, Gwen, and a newly reformed Kevin Levin to search and locate him. While at the same time enlisting the help of child Plumbers and repelling attacks from a new foe DNAliens and The Highbreed.

Some time after the Highbreed are defeated, Ben, Gwen, and Kevin continue their adventures dealing with various alien threats. These include facing off with some villains from Ben’s past such as Vilgax and Vulkanus.

Astro Boy Video Game Review for the Wii

      November 2, 2009 by Momstart 680 Comments

      Astro Boy: The Movie

You know what I like about Astro Boy? He has a shirt on, all of the older versions of Astro Boy he is shirtless and now he is sporting a jacket and shirt. Very funny I know.

D3 Publisher, imagi studios and Bink Video present Astro Boy: The Movie for the Wii.

This was another one of the games that they demoed at the Family Event hosted by D3 Publisher. My husband is interested in trying out the game on the Wii. I think he spent more time watching the demo as it was one of the last things we did that day. I was so tired.

I know that it is side screen scrolling and that you rotate between flying and land levels. You fight bad guys by shooting, out the front and the rear. One of the favorite lines from the movie is “I have guns in my butt?” or something along those lines.

      About Astro Boy

When the futuristic Metro City finds itself facing new and unprecedented peril, there’s only one figure to whom it can turn: Astro Boy. The creation of a brilliant scientist, this daring young robot is imbued with a variety of amazing powers, from lasers and arm cannons to super speed and flight. Now he must prepare to face his destiny, summoning all of his powers in defense of everything he holds dear.

You can also look here for my Astro Boy Movie Review.

Our 1 day Family Vacation in LA with D3 Publisher

      October 16, 2009 by Momstart 1 Comment

My family had the wonderful opportunity to visit with D3 Publisher last weekend.  They flew our family down to the Los Angeles area for the weekend to show us their new video games. We got in to LAX around 9:30 and didn’t get to our hotel room until about 10pm. We stayed at the Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel which was really nice and they gave my kids Little People Toys. Anyways, the kids had fun playing in the hotel room before we settled down for bed. We’re pretty strict on our 7pm bed time at home, but this night we were all up until 11pm and we had some good family fun being silly in the hotel room.

      dance

On Saturday they kept us very busy. We had a fun day down in Southern California. They loaded us and some other families onto a big coach bus and took us out to Irvine to see their games based on the "Secret Saturdays" and "Ben10" cartoons. They work with Papaya Studios and Cartoon Network to create some very fun games. The newest version of “Ben10” is going to be the first time that you can become all ten of Ben’s creatures. I’ve never seen the cartoon but the game quality is quite impressive on the Xbox 360. We had nannies available for us to use while we were there. The nannies spent the whole day with us and my kids fell in love with one of the nannies.

Next we went to House of Champions Academy of Martial Arts for their game based on the kids TV show "Kamen Rider: Dragon Knight". We had to recover from being on a bus for an hour when we arrived. The charter bus broke down on the LA highway during rush hour traffic. This is where D3 impressed me the most. They took as much care of us as they could while we were waiting for another bus. It was hot but they had plenty of water and they even provided entertainment.

      d3

Aside from the good humor they also handed out a Nintendo DS to each mom. Inside each DS was a copy of Secret Saturdays: Beasts of the 5th Sun.. Finally we went back to Santa Monica (where our hotel was) for a screening of the new movie "Astro Boy" and a preview of the Astro Boy video game. The movie was good (and a rare treat – it was very clean). It  We were sitting in Dick Clark Studios previewing a movie. theater

Not only did I feel like someone that is very important but I felt like I was on a date. We haven’t had a date since my daughter was born. My kids were with the nannies and I was able to enjoy myself for an hour and watch a movie before anyone else gets to see it. I wasn’t able to finish the movie because my kids needed me but I liked what I saw. Interesting fact I didn’t know until we got back is that the original Astro Boy was the first anime ever, from back in 1952.

We didn’t have much time before we had to catch our ride to LAX on Sunday morning, but since our hotel was right across the street from the beach, we made sure to walk over there and have a bit of fun. I think this is the first time the Zoe and Miles have been to a real ocean beach.

Over the course of the next few weeks I’ll be posting more about individual things we were able to see and do.. But this is my fully disclosed post. Thank you D3 for making a vacation possible and my husband wants to come back next year.
