The Must Use Coupon Site: Instant On-line Savings with CouponMate.com

November 25, 2014 by Momstart Leave a Comment

This is a partnered post, opinions are my own.

image

I was starting to think that all coupon sites are a like but now after looking at couponmate.com I’m SUPER impressed. Yes Couponmate.com is a site that you go to to look up coupon codes and they have a vast selection of stores and websites that they offer coupon codes for. However, they have this unique Chrome add on that allows you to see if they have a coupon for that site you might be shopping on. That’s where coupon sites have left me dry before. I FORGET TO visit them before I shop. See the red icon in the picture below, that’s the indication there is a coupon!

image

The extension can be downloaded for free and is easy to use (the extension is currently exclusive to Google Chrome; the Mozilla Firefox and Safari web browser versions will be available very soon);

Here is short video demonstrating what the extension can do:

The goal of the CouponMate extension is to make the “coupon hunting” process easier.  They search the web daily for all the best coupon codes for over 100,000 brands, and they are even working to automate the process of applying the best code to your cart. About 250 websites are supported for this automation so far. It’s so cool. You go to a site and that red icon appears. You can either look at the coupons and make your best choice or if the automation is on the site it tries coupons for you until it finds the best one to work.

You’re able to browse the latest coupon codes for websites you visit at any time without having to leave said website, and on supported websites, you can also use our “Find Best Coupon” feature which will appear in a small window during checkout to automatically find and apply the best code for your specific items. We hope you find the extension to be successful and easy to use.

CouponMate is designed to make coupons readily available for you as you surf your favorite shops. There are two types of supported websites:

Type 1) These are websites for which we collect coupon codes – these coupon codes can be viewed in a side window from your browser, clicked on, and copied directly to your clipboard. You can then paste these codes to the appropriate place at checkout.

Type 2) These websites have all the capabilities of Type 1 in addition to having an automated “Find Best Coupon” feature which will search through the best coupon codes found and automatically apply the top code for your purchase.

It’s a really cool way to save money and so easy to use!

How to Save Big on Department Store Shopping

April 17, 2014 by Momstart Leave a Comment

Department stores are great places to do one-stop shopping because they carry such a variety of items. You can purchase a new spring wardrobe, a kitchen blender, and a new comforter for your bed all in the same store. But sometimes you may be reluctant to do so because you might think that other stores have cheaper alternatives. These are some tips to help you save by shopping in department stores.

Timing your Shopping

clip_image002When you are shopping to get the ultimate savings, timing is everything. An item that may have been full price yesterday could be 50 percent off tomorrow. To time your shopping, try to commit to never paying full price for any item that isn’t an absolute must-have. You’ll find that there aren’t many items that fall into that category. An upside to timing your purchases when they are made at department stores is that most major department stores have other branches and they have online stores, as well. This means that if you want to purchase an item but, by the time it goes on sale it has sold out, you still have the option to buy it from another branch, have your branch order it for you from another location and have it shipped to your home, or buy it from the department store’s online version. Another way to save money is to plan the time during which you buy items. If you know that next winter, you will need a new coat, try buying one this spring when the coats are on clearance. Pack it away carefully and by next winter, you’ll have a brand new coat for which you paid a fraction of the price. You can also time other items, like seasonal items. Buying holiday decorations after the New Year is a great way to get lots of new decorations, gift wrapping, and even holiday themed gifts at a small percentage of what they would have cost just a few weeks earlier. If you can afford the space to store these things until it’s time to use them, buying out of season is a great way to save money on department store items.

Finding Coupons

For the best department store deals, don’t rely on in-store sales alone. Whether you are shopping online or in the store, try to find some great coupons to help you save even more. For example, you might love to shop at the popular department store Macy’s. Macy’s carries clothing for women, men, and kids, and also carries home goods and appliances. Macy’s also has a program that allows you to sign up for text messages from the company to get details on deals and events. You can find many great deals for Macy’s by looking for an in-store coupon or an online promotion code. A great way to find these coupons is to visit a coupon gathering site and search for the store you want to shop. For example, if you know that you plan to buy some new spring wardrobe items from Macy’s, you could visit a site like MyCoupons and type in Macy’s to see what coupons are available. They’ll all be listed with the information you need, such as the expiration date, whether they are in-store or online coupons, which items are eligible for the discount, and whether there are any exclusions. Doing a quick coupon search like this only takes seconds and it can end up saving you a large amount of money. Many people are using online coupons now. In fact, it was estimated that more than half of American adult users of the Internet would redeem a digital coupon in 2013, according to eMarketer. Take advantage of this growing trend and start saving money whenever you shop in a department store.

Shopping in department stores doesn’t mean having to pay full price, and it doesn’t even have to mean waiting for a small sale. You can get everyday savings if you are diligent about checking coupon sites for savings and coupons, and you can stock up on items that you won’t need for a few months by buying them at a drastically reduced price in their off seasons. Always remember to check coupons for expiration dates and for exclusions. There is a lot to find in the small print sometimes, so to avoid disappointment or confusion during checkout, read the details to make sure that all the items you plan to purchase are eligible for the discount you’ve found. Once you know how to shop the sales, how to time your purchases, and how to find and use coupons online, you can shop the department stores for great deals. Department stores hold a wealth of potential savings, as long as you have the right tools to find them.

Using Online Coupons to Save on Baby Products

January 29, 2014 by Momstart Leave a Comment

If you have a new baby in your family, whether he or she is your first child or your sixth, you’re probably on the lookout for ways to make your life more efficient and ways to save money. Even if you are just preparing for the arrival of your new baby, you’re probably already gathering baby products and supplies. Whether you’re shopping for essentials, like baby skin care and diapers, or you need specific items like clothing or furniture, the Internet is a great resource for parents. Shopping online for baby products is a great way to help you save time and, perhaps more importantly, save money.

Shopping Online for Baby Products

There are many different ways to shop online for baby products, and you can probably find most or all of the things you need for your baby online. Online retailers offer daily products like diapers and bottles, as well as larger purchases like nursery furniture. If there is a particular type of baby product you want to purchase, such as organic baby care or cloth diapers, shopping online can be an excellent way to find products that may be more difficult to locate in your local physical stores. Shopping online also saves you a lot of time. You can shop even when stores are closed, which means you can shop on your own schedule, and you can quickly find and purchase the things you need for your baby without ever leaving the house. This will save you the time it would take to drive or travel to a store and, if you would need to take your baby along on the shopping trip, it saves you the time and preparation of getting ready to take your little one out with you.

Using Coupons to Save on Baby Products

About half of the American adults who used the Internet in 2013 were expected to use coupons, according to eMarketer. If you haven’t been using online baby coupons, you’re missing out on a lot of savings. While there are many advantages to shopping online for baby products, such as convenience and being able to locate hard-to-find items, one of the biggest advantages is the savings you can find with the use of coupons for your baby care purchases. There is a current trend in online coupon usage that is making more and more online retailers aware of how important it is to provide online coupons.

If you use baby coupons online, you’ll be one of the many parents who take advantage of online coupons to save more money on Internet shopping. More than 35 percent of parents use online coupons, according to PRN Newswire. If you sign up for email alerts from your favorite online baby store, you can get daily updates in your inbox about what coupons are available that day, and you may also get special coupon codes that are only available to loyal customers.

Using baby coupons when shopping online is a great way to save money, and online shopping is a great way to find the exact products you need for your baby, like organic baby products, clothing made from natural materials, cloth diapers, and other items that aren’t as easy to find in stores. The growing popularity of online coupons means that it will be easier than ever for you to find great online deals for all the baby products you need. Once you find an online store that serves all your baby product needs, you can quickly and easily log on to get and use coupons, save money, and order exactly what you need for your baby.

Saving With Ashley: Ibotta Video Review – A New Way to Coupon and Earn Money!

September 4, 2012 by Momstart 20 Comments

By: Ashley

Have you heard about Ibotta? Think of an app for couponing… but SO MUCH BETTER! Instead of clipping coupons, Ibotta allows users to earn money back from their favorite brands. Sounds amazing, right? I tested Ibotta out this weekend, and loved it! Here is my experience.

Ibotta is set to launch later this month. Soon you’ll even be hearing about it from some of your favorite news spots. So, no nonsense… what do I really think about the Ibotta app? I honestly love it.

– Easy to use. Even for the technologically challenged. (Like me! ;))

– Ibotta refills your offers and personalizes them to your tastes.

– You learn cool things about products you love.

– You can donate the money you earn to a school of your choice.

– You can split your earnings between your PayPal account and a school. (AWESOME!)

– It’s okay to use regular manufacturers’ coupons and store coupons in addition to Ibotta!

clip_image001

When Ibotta launches this month, there is probably going to be a big waitlist. It kind of makes me think of when Pintrest came out. MomStart readers can easily sign up to bypass the wait and be one of the first to use this money saving app. All you have to do is visit http://www.ibotta.com/ , enter your email address, and they’ll let you know when the app goes live. This is DEFINITELY worth checking out.

Safeway Just For U $100 Gift Card & Couponizer Prize Pack Giveaway

May 28, 2012 by Momstart 55 Comments

I have yet to write about my fabulous day with Safeway where I spent the day learning about the Just for U program. I love it, it makes shopping at Safeway like a game where I save as much as I can. It’s actually gotten me in their store more than any other grocery store lately. I go online to Safeway.com and log into my Safeway account and I have personal deals based on my past spending habits. And Safeway knows me and what I buy because I have fabulous deals like milk for .99 cents. I’m in love with this shopping experience. Picture 6

What you have to do..

1. Sign up – either update your phone number and address information or sign up for a Safeway club card account and then create your just for U program. My MIL went into the store and updated hers there with one of the Safeway associates walking around with an iPad and she said it was so fast.

2. Log in on-line and find your personal deals and then pick the ones you want to use that day and load them onto your card. You also can load ecoupons onto your Safeway club card. And you can use paper coupons too if you like, Safeway will not stack manufacturer coupons, but they will stack manufacturer coupons with store coupons. Just like always, but Safeway guarantees to give you the best deal out of the coupons you bring.

Coupon Center — In the coupon center you’ll find a selection of coupons that can be “clipped” and added to your Club Card. These coupons are available to everyone and sorted by your shopping history so that you’ll see the items you use at the top of the page. They can also be sorted by category or by “about to expire”.

Personalized Deals — These deals are specific to YOU based on your past shopping history. Personalized deals are month long offers so you’ll have plenty of time to take advantage of them.

Your Club Specials — This section shows you EVERYTHING in the store that is on sale if you’ve purchased it in the past. You can use this tool to help create your shopping list. Just click “add to list” next to the item to add it to your shopping list. Your Club Specials usually follow your stores sales weekly sales ad so if your ad comes out on a Wednesday, they’d be good Wednesday through Tuesday (one week).

—– Mommies With Cents

3. Buy your groceries and watch the savings rack up when you check out.

Olive Garden Supports Take Our Daughters And Sons To Work Day With A Free Meal

April 24, 2012 by Momstart 9 Comments

I love Take your child to work day and many places are big supporters of this initiative. Even where my husband works they support it, it’s just the activities they have for the kids are for older kids. So once Miles and Zoe are a bit older daddy will be taking them to work with him. Another place I just found out that is supporting Take Our Daughters And Sons To Work Day is my husband’s favorite restaurant. GRA0135241 LOGO2

On Thursday, April 26, Olive Garden invites everyone who’s taking a child to work, to enjoy a lunch break or dinner at Olive Garden. So I’m thinking Thursday night Andrew needs to take the kids out to eat. I’ll be on my way to the airport and won’t be able to go out with them. If he chooses to take the kids Olive Garden will give him a free Kid’s Meal (for children 12 and under) for *every adult entrée purchased in-restaurant. So since it’s just him he’ll get one kids meal. If it was both of us then he would get two kids meals. If you plan to go to Olive Garden on the 26th then visit Facebook.com/OliveGarden to download your printable coupon.2012 Foundation Small

Not only is Take Our Daughters And Sons To Workâ Day a great opportunity for families to spend time together, it offers children an opportunity to think about career options and what they want to be when they grow up. Take Our Daughters And Sons To Work Day® is one of several education-related initiatives that Olive Garden proudly supports.

I received a gift card to share this information with you.
