Another Way to Save: Hallmark Gold Crown Coupon Promotion

December 10, 2013 by Momstart Leave a Comment

imageI am being compensated by Hallmark but the content and opinions are my own.

I’ve already posted on how you can earn rewards with the Hallmark Card Rewards. All you have to do is purchase cards and with every  five Hallmark cards you buy, no matter where you buy them including over 30,000 grocery and drugstores and supercenters across the country. Not only will you accrue points that you can use to wards gift cards but you will also receive exclusive ideas and offers to continue to be the thoughtful person you are (you know because you send people cards and uplift their spirits with them) Now I’m going to post a coupon on saving money when you purchase over $10 or more with each purchase. So yeah I’m going to tell you to break up your purchases into $10 or more purchases. Because with your purchase of $10 or more you will receive a savings of $5.00 on your purchase.  (Please note: this coupon is valid for purchases for full-priced merchandise at Hallmark Gold Crown Stores only. )

We use Hallmark to keep up our family traditions. We go into a Hallmark Gold Crown store every year to find the most recent photo ornament and we purchase that for our yearly photo ornament. We love the Hallmark Ornaments because they include the year and then the place for us to put our favorite photo from that year. Like here is our favorite photo from 2010 it’s a photo of us making a snow man with boxes. image

Yes we used card board boxes that year, we filled them with snow and made a box snow man. That’s that last time I remember such a wonderful snow so close to Christmas. Now all we’ve had is cold and dry during the holidays but it’s still close enough we can wish for a white Christmas.

So with this post there are two things I want to make sure you remember.

ONE:

you will receive a savings of $5.00 on your purchase

Two:

Save money using the Hallmark Card Rewards.

Summer is Around the Corner: Special Swimways $5.00 Off Coupon

April 5, 2013 by Momstart Leave a Comment

We had a few warm days here in Seattle and they didn’t last long enough if you ask me. I’m missing them already, it’s raining again, but that’s not going to keep us out of the pool. I’m a Swimways ambassador and I’ll be reviewing their products all summer long. Plus along the way I’ll be sharing great deals, promotions and events with you.

The main goal I have with this partnership is that I want my children to learn how to swim and not be afraid of the water. They take swim lessons at the YMCA but they are still very afraid of the water. We keep them with the same teacher in hopes that he can build a trusting relationship with them, but it’s a slow process. I know what they really need is more practice.

I have a coupon for you…It’s a $5.00 off Swimways coupon when you buy any three or more products. While the warm weather may still be a few weeks away, we hope that you are able to use this coupon to get the conversation started early about the importance of learning to swim this summer. We’re just six weeks out from National Learn to Swim Day (May 18, 2013 – I will be sharing additional information about this event soon), and Swimways is already diving into the conversation of children’s water safety.

I’ll be sharing those tips with you as well. Make sure that you follow strict safety precautions with kids and the pool. There are way too many tragedies every year, keep an eye on those babies. Children are a precious gift!

50% Discount at Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream Shop

August 3, 2011 by Momstart 7 Comments

The last time we went to Ben & Jerry’s was free ice cream day. Oh it was wonderful, it was a nice warm day, not too hot because we did have to wait in line for the free ice cream after all. After all four of us got our free scoop (can you guess who took the longest to make their decision? Yes me, I’m so indecisive, the kids knew right away, who can turn down bananas and peanut butter combined, not them of course) we went and took a walk out on the pier across the street. Downtown Kirkland is BEAUTIFUL!

imageToday, you can get 10.00 worth of ice cream for only 5.00. Practically everyone on the planet knows and loves Ben & Jerry’s, for they’ve been scooping ice cream since 1978 and grateful ice cream lovers have been happily ingesting it for just as long. So round up your crew and head on over to the Kirkland location for some good times. TIME magazine called their ice cream "The Best Ice Cream in the World," and we couldn’t agree more. Whether you order up a fabulous sundae, shake, fresh fruit smoothie or cone, every last lick, slurp or bite is going to be all kinds of crazy delicious. We will see you in line because this is one juicy deal we’re going to take advantage of! Get your ice cream and enjoy the scenery!

Be sure to check the Juicy Details.

Valid at the Kirkland location only: 176 Lake Street South. Entire value must be used in one transaction. Excludes tax. Limit one per person.

Saddened by Rite Aid’s New Coupon Policy

May 29, 2011 by Momstart 3 Comments

Even though, I hardly ever right about using coupons and saving money, I have a passion for it. I’m always saving coupons and using at least one at the grocery story, but I always feel triumphant when I end up using 20 coupons and saving 50-60% or more on my grocery bill. Blogging and couponing are the two ways that I contribute to our family’s debt snowball plan. A penny saved is a penny earned. One of the stores that I live close to and had a few really good savings trips at from time to time was Rite Aid. They had such a great coupon policy and it was really easy to get things for FREE! I’m guessing that too many people are now using coupons or something has gone wrong someone because now they changed their policy, and I don’t like some of the changes!

So If you shop at Rite Aid too, you’ll want to be aware that they updated their coupon policy last week.

Here are some of the changes:

  • You can no longer use a B1G1 coupon on a product that is on sale B1G1.  You can use $ off coupons, but they must be less than the total of the product you are buying.

This coupon policy was my FAVORITE one. I’m wondering if all stores including major grocery stores are going to implement this policy.

  • If something is on sale B1G1 you can only use 1 coupon per pair of items purchased.

Oh this is another rule that really stinks. Only one coupon per two items, that’s just wrong! Stores are reimbursed by companies for the coupons used so I don’t understand why there is so much of a fuss over the use of two coupons when a store has something on sale for buy one get one free. I guess it’s just this really does make me sad because I worry that other stores are going to follow these new rules too.

  • There is a limit of 4 like items per transaction and you must leave sufficient stock in the store for other customers.  This is up to the manager’s discretion.
  • You can use manufacturers coupons (starts with a 5), Rite Aid manufacturers coupons (starts with 49) and Rite Aid Valuable coupons (starts with 48) all on the same product as long as the coupons are not worth more than the product.
  • Coupons printed off the internet (that are not Rite Aid coupons) are only accepted up to $5.

coupon

The final three changes seem to be decent changes. I mean it’s hoarding to take more than 4 items of something at a time. Things do go on sale in cycles and it should be on sale before you can go through four of something. Yeah, of course there are some exemptions but it’s the kind thing to do to make sure there is enough for others. I’ve been in Rite Aid and Walgreens many times when there is a really good sale and they are completely out.

It’s also nice that you can use three different kinds of coupons on one product. Walgreens makes you have one item per coupon used even if three of the coupons were for the same item. Now I’m sure that seems confusing, but it’s true. You can use a store coupon and a manufacturer coupon at Walgreens as long as you have the same number of items as you do coupons.

And when it comes to coupons printed off the internet, most of the time if they are over $5.00 they are probably fraudulent coupons. Like I said though, I’m really sad about changes in coupon policies. I hear whispers on the internet that it’s because of TLC’s show Extreme Couponing.

Read the entire Rite Aid Coupon Policy here.  And Tell me What you Think?

Seneca Farms Oatmeal & Fruit Review and Coupon

April 11, 2011 by Momstart 2 Comments

Not surprising to me, but did you know that *71 % of U.S. adults agree that breakfast is the most important meal of the day but 67% of those adults admit to skipping breakfast? I’m not surprised because I’m one of those adults that will skip breakfast from time to time. My kids on the other hand do not skip breakfast and it’s a concern of mine to make sure that I’m feeding them something that is healthy and keeps them full until snack time.

Seneca Farms Oatmeal

What is surprising to me is that nearly * 60% of U.S. parents of children ages 3-17 admit that their child skips breakfast, with more than half of U.S. Moms wishing their child ate a more nutritious breakfast. I had no idea that kids that young skipped breakfast. I also had no idea that 58% of U.S. Moms say they skip breakfast regularly. 46% of Moms who skip breakfast say they do so because they do not have enough time to prepare or eat it. And that 57% of single adults say the number one reason they skip breakfast is that they don’t have enough time to prepare it.

Seneca Farms Oatmeal has a simple solution to our time crunch and desire for a wholesome breakfast. In just 45 seconds the oatmeal is ready to be served and comes in some really great fruit flavors. I just had the opportunity to review to great flavors with Zoe and Miles. I just tried Apple Cinnamon and Vanilla Peach. My favorite being Apple Cinnamon, but Zoe and Miles seemed to enjoy both flavors equally. I loved how there were real pieces of fruit in each package of oatmeal. With the promise of more flavors in the coming months there will be plenty to choose from. Seneca’s Oatmeal & Fruit has no trans fats or cholesterol, and is a great source of Vitamin C. Oh and did I mention it’s yummy. Yeah, the kids liked it but so did I.

Be sure to get a coupon for Seneca Farms Oatmeal on the Seneca Farms Facebook page. Visit their site to find out where you can find Seneca Farms Oatmeal.
