Thanks to Sony I was able to stay at L’Auberge de Sedona in Arizona, and really enjoyed my stay. L’Auberge de Sedona gave all of us on the trip the VIP treatment and if you stay there you should make sure you have VIP status too, it’s well worth it.
You can stay at the lodge or in your own cottage. I stayed in one of the Garden cottages.
A Garden Cottage with a juniper-scented wood-burning fireplace and mine had an excellent view and an outdoor shower that in the month of March was just too cold for me to use. They say you have to do it in the summertime.
Of course in the beautiful Sedona, I’m not sure any of the cottages had a bad view. The Creekside Cottage on the banks of Oak Creek have a fabulous view of the creek.
You could also stay in a Vista Suite that overlooks Sedona’s breathtakingly beautiful red rocks, much like the view I had. And there is a Lodge House big enough for a family reunion. While I was there with Sony we used the Lodge for dinner one night, and they have rooms in the lodge you could stay in as well. I didn’t look at those rooms but they are described as traditional Lodge Rooms to Spa Cottages. Most cottages come with fireplaces and cedar outdoor showers, and all come with the amenities you’d expect, including sumptuous Italian linens, down bedding, bathrobes and slippers, and nightly turndown service (upon request). I say get the turn down service.
Turn down service with milk and cookies one night, turn down service with a bottle of wine another night, and on the final night we had amazing chocolates left on the pillow. Actually chocolate was left on the pillow every night it was just extra special chocolate the last night.
I took that wine home to enjoy with my husband and we LOVED it. It’s my favorite wine so far.
In the mornings, you have to help yourself to complimentary coffee and baked goods in the lobby, or join us for a free yoga class, or twice a week evening stargazing session. Pets are also welcome in the Garden Cottages. There is a coffee pot in your room, it’s a Keurig with lots of k-cup options. Complimentary in-room wireless internet will be provided in the your room and meeting spaces.
Here, the staff takes every opportunity to delight you and surprise you. One of the bloggers was surprised with a photo of her dog in her room, they might also put a favorite book appearing by your bedside or something really special. And they do this not just because it’s their job, but because they genuinely care. Quite simply, this is a hotel experience unlike any other. I loved staying there and if I could convince my husband to go back I would.
All photos were taken with one of the Sony Cybershots.
This stay was provided by Sony and the hotel itself.
