Tea Collection Clothing Haul $100

July 1, 2011 by Momstart 677 Comments

Fining clothing for my son is difficult. Clothes are either too dress for playtime or they are just too down to wear for anything other than playtime. So my son has church clothes and play clothes and not much in between. I’m also pretty unhappy with most of the choices out there, but then, I was introduced to Tea Collection Boy’s Clothes. Now my son looks adorable and can play or go out to eat with us. The clothing feels quite soft and is comfortable for him to wear, and the shorts fit just right with room to grow. Most of his shorts just don’t fit right either they fall off or just are too short. So I’m dearly in love with the Tea Collection Clothing we received from the Tea Collection Spring Line. The elastic in the shorts is firm enough to stay up and comfortable around his waste. Check out this amazing clothing haul.

imageimageimage

We also received Tea Collection Girl’s Clothes. Oh and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the dress they sent Zoe. I want it in my size and I think it would be so cute to dress the same one day. I know it would make Zoe’s day. The dress is the Playa Playdress.

imageimageimage

The blue skirt is not part of their collection, Zoe just picked that to finish off her tank look. All of the The clothing made her look so very grown up. I just couldn’t get over how well they both looked in their new clothes. I’ve washed all of them and the care instructions are simple. Oh and not only can you get Children’s Clothing but also Baby Clothing and Women’s Clothing too. The women’s line carried at Tea Collection was created in 2010 with the same Chic, flattering globally-inspired styles found in the children’s line. I can’t wait to try something for myself.

This giveaway has ended. Congratulations to Joy F.

We received samples to facilitate this review.

Just Jen Custom Rhinestone Fashions Clothing Giveaway

March 10, 2011 by Momstart 126 Comments

Last week I had a play date at my house and I decided to show off my new Just Jen Custom Rhinestone T-shirt that had my blog name on it. The compliments came rolling in making me smile. Thank you friends! The Just Jen Collection can be ordered on-line with shirts and themes perfect for bachelorette shirts to bridesmaid t-shirts.

JustJen T-shirtA few years ago when I first started doing reviews, I had the opportunity to work with Just Jen so I knew exactly what I wanted this time. The first time I ordered a T-shirt from Just Jen I ordered a soft pink color and as much as I love the T-shirt I have to be careful what I wear under it as it is a little on the see through side. And since I really like dark colored bras, the pink, I love Texas shirt sits in the closet. So this time I went with black! Just Jen’s clothing line is soft, durable in the washing machine with little to no shrinkage. Oh and I have to mention that I love love love the ability to get the shirt in the longer length. I really like shirts to go below my waist since having kids.

The Custom Rhinestone Fashions Experience:

You make your shirt! You pick out the style first. Decide which design you want and what type of t-shirt fitting do you want. Then pick out the color of the t-shirt and then pick out the colors of the rhinestones. It’s completely customizable. My new black shirt sports my blog name MomStart with these customizations:

Just Jen T-shirtThe Design Name:  Custom Shirt

Shirt-Style: Cotton Spandex Long-Sleeve T-Shirt (Longer length)

Shirt-Color: Black

Shirt-Size (Please refer to the sizing chart): Medium

Shimmery Dresses and Embellished Tees Macy’s Impulse #Giveaway

October 17, 2010 by Momstart 608 Comments

Checking the Macy’s ad is a great way to stay on top of current fashion trends for all ages. We shop the sales for our kids and find the cutest fashionable little clothing for both Miles and Zoe to wear. But when I’m looking for me, I love to find youthful clothing that is fashionable. For this Fall, the hottest women’s clothing and apparel can be found in the Macy’s Impulse department. Each season, Impulse finds the current trends and publishes that list as a Hot List. It is essentially a cheat sheet of what your closet should not be without. It features many of today’s top labels, including 7 For All Mankind, Miss Me, Sugar Lips and more.

The focus this season focuses on eye-catching details.

Think Shimmery Dresses

Shimmer-Dress-Medium

and Embellished Tees.

Embellished-Tee-Medium

and Draped Camis that add a hint of attitude to your everyday outfit.

To nail both trends, try wearing a lace-trimmed cardigan over a flowy, floral camisole. And I have always had a thing for fun socks. These knee-high socks are right up my alley.

Parigi Group’s Apple Bottoms on my Daughter Giveaway

July 8, 2010 by Momstart 225 Comments

Parigi Group sent me a set of clothing from Apple Bottoms for Zoe to wear. And Wear she has! There was a time when this girl would not wear a pair of pants unless it was an elastic waste. I thought we were still in that era, but when she saw a pair of Apple Bottoms jeans with a glittery apple on the butt, she had to put them on. I told her she had to wait until the next day so I could get a good photo of her in them. Poor girl!

Next day, she remembered!image

Let me just say that taking a photo of a little girl is quite a challenge. At least for this photo shoot she was all smiles, I think that last time we reviewed clothing together she cried the whole time.

image All of the clothing has special detailing. Zoe’s shirt has an apple on the front pocket of her shirt and the back says Apple Bottom. The pants have the letters AB on the butt. She just loves her new clothes! Apple Bottom runs in sizes infant up to girls size 16, (FYI some small adults can fit into size 16, I could before I had children, so you might want to check them out for yourselves. It’s CUTE!)

Zoe’s outfit is an undershirt, white tank type spaghetti strap, with the sheer plaid colorful over shirt with all of the glitter rhinestones on it. Her jeans have the adjust the waste bands in them so you can grow into them, or if you have a tall child that is quite slender then you can get the larger size and adjust the waste. Whoever, invented the adjustable waistline for kids was a genius!

image

My only complaint would be, you have to wash them by hand. I don’t wash anything by hand and because I didn’t wash it by hand or on the delicate cycle some of the glitter work came off on the t-shirt, they stayed secure to the jeans though! (I washed the jeans inside out)

The Parigi Group has played a major role in helping to shape and define the children’s fashion apparel market. They represent brands such as PUMA, Apple Bottoms, Akademiks, and LRG.

Organically Grown Green Giveaway

April 29, 2010 by Momstart 151 Comments

BRAND LOGO Organically Grown uses organic cotton  in their clothing. Many people think that because cotton is a natural fabric that basically it’s already organic. Here is what defines organic cotton.

Organic Cotton is grown and harvested using methods that leave a very low carbon footprint. Theses processes have a low impact on the environment and adhere to the strictest of standards. The mission of organic farmers is to maintain the health of the earth through building, replenishing and maintaining healthy soil. They do not use toxic chemicals, synthetic fertilizers or GMO seeds.

Why is organic cotton better for the environment?
Traditional fiber production releases chemicals, dyes, and bleaches into
our air, soil, and water, polluting the fragile ecosystem of our planet. In
contrast, organic farms use all natural methods during their harvesting
process:
1. Seeds: Organic farmers use only untreated seeds, and no seeds
containing GMO (Genetically Modified Organisms)
2. Soil & Water: Using crop rotation to build strong soil, organic farms
are able to retain more water without intensive irrigation.
3. Weeds & Pests: Farmers can keep weeds and pests away from their
crop in many different ways without resorting to harsh chemicals.
They maintain the natural balance between pests and their natural
predators using healthy soil, beneficial insects, and trap crops.
4. Harvest: Instead of defoliating using toxic chemicals, organic
farmers rely on the natural freeze to defoliate.

Zutano, itzy bitzy Review and Giveaway

April 9, 2010 by Momstart 270 Comments

One thing that I really do love about blogging is the opportunity to work with companies that I love. Companies that I developed a love for before I even had children. One of my favorite lines to sell while I was working children’s retails was Zutano, not only was it one of my favorites it was easy to sell. The price point is lower compared to other brands we carried but the quality is amazing.

I contacted Zutano and requested permission to do a giveaway and asked if they were willing to do a review as well and they agreed to both. They sent me some clothes for Zoe and she looks amazing in them. I think they are slimming and one of the best parts is that they fit her comfortably. She can pull the pants up and down which has been wonderful for potty training. A lot of the pants she wears fit so snugly she can not pull them up and down for potty training. So we love the Zutano pants. I think I’m going to have to go find a local store that carries them and purchase a few more pairs.

Oh and I have to mention that it washes and dries well. We would always tell people to buy a size up, but I requested the size she wears, 4 and after washing it twice it fits her just right.

Zutano

I could not get a better photo of her because she was not in the mood to have her picture taken. Zutano makes the cutest infant clothing. They make one pieces and separates. Everything is mix and match practically. They even make blankets and hats to match all of the clothing. Pants come in patterns, stripes, and solid colors. Actually they are all the same, each piece is a pattern, stripe, or solid. You put the pieces together. It’s fun!

Laugh and Learn About Childbirth book review and trio #giveaway

January 25, 2010 by Momstart 70 Comments

Going into childbirth I was terrified. I have no pain tolerance and everyone says that child birth is the most painful experience in the world. But the thing about pain is that it’s forgettable. So even when I had already gone through it all once with my daughter, I was terrified to do it the second time with my daughter.

Even though, I have no more plans to have anymore children, I have been introduced to a new series and perspective on childbirth. I’ve been looking a book by Sheri Bales, Laugh and Learn about childbirth. It’s the book I needed and didn’t have because it’s about the scariest part. All about labor, the signs, medications, preparations, positions. When I was going into labor with my daughter, it was nothing like the books said it would be. There was no consistency. Even when I called the hospital they said I was not in labor and to stay home. Shortly after calling them, my water broke, I called them again to say I’m coming in be prepared. I had the baby within the next hour. We barely made it to the hospital in time.

In her book she talks about ways to be prepared, positions to help the body deal with pain and help the baby come out more easily. It makes sense to let gravity help right? With my son, I think the most comfortable thing was using the bouncy ball which is one of her recommendations. I just warn you, do not let them break your water unless they have to. The pain after that is unbearable in my opinion.

Going into childbirth with knowledge makes the experience a lot less frightening and out of all the books I read, I have never seen such a fact filled version of what to expect during childbirth. Not only was it really informative there were over 40 illustrations and everything was organized into 6 easy to understand chapters. I’m a very visual person so I really enjoyed all of the illustrations and charts for facts.

Not only does Laugh and Learn have a book collection but they have DVD’s and T-shirts.
