Channellock 125 Years Strong Father’s Day Giveaway

May 28, 2011 by Momstart 521 Comments

Tools Tools Tools and more tools. It seems growing up that the most valued Father’s Day gift was a tool. I remember giving dad, socks, ties, games and yeah, he appreciated all of it, but nothing made his eyes light up like a tool or hunting gear. Yeah, this post is about tools but I have to be honest, hunting gear was always a favorite too!

There is something universal in the tactile sensation for a man in building something, or tackling a home project by themselves. My husband even took up the hobby of building things at home. My favorite creation he made was a picture frame to frame one of my paintings. Once upon a time, I painted as a hobby. That was pre-kids, pre-blog, pre-life. I thought he was pretty crafty, but projects take time and with kids he didn’t have time to do any home projects anymore. Neither of us did. Plus, we’re not about to do any home repairs ourselves. I have CRAZY home repair stories to tell you, they all have to do with pipes and water. Water everywhere! Let’s just say, pipes and us do not get along.

Channellock is celebrating 125 years of making quality tools. So if it’s home repair or just your own craftiness that could use a new set of tools, join in their tool celebration. Channellock is giving away one CHANNELLOCK® Tool Roll No. 3 Gift Set every other week until July 4th in their Channellock Blue Sweepstakes. You can also try to win a set here on MomStart.

Seattle #TweetDrive 2010 Almost Wordless Wednesday

December 14, 2010 by Momstart 17 Comments

I LOVE using my influence on-line to make a difference in my community. Last week we had a tweet up in Seattle and I helped gather swag, donations and door prizes. The event was the Seattle Tweet Drive. I posted in detail about the Seattle Tweetdrive a few weeks ago when I started looking for sponsors and I’m so happy with all the companies that supported us. See the full list below! We had a great turnout and Look at what we did for the charity Treehouse! I’m exhausted and extremely behind on my blog posts, but I feel great because it was all for a really great cause. Club Sur donated the space, My Seattle Night Out organized the event, and local bands and entertainers donated their time and efforts for all of us to have a great time! We gathered around 333 toys total! Tweet Drive is going on nationally in many different locations, check Tweet Drive 2010 to find a location next to you.

Dad’s Christmas Present Channellock 4-in-1 Ratcheting Wrench Set Giveaway

December 7, 2010 by Momstart 267 Comments

Channellock 2clr CRHave you figured out what you are getting Dad this year for Christmas? Depending on what kind of dad he is, it might seem like the most impossible task you have to face. What do you get dad? For me the list was always, Do I get him socks, a tie that he won’t ever wear, or how about an office nick nack. Well that won’t get used much because my dad never really had an office that he sat in.

My husband is causing me the same hardship, what do I get him. I’m currently left with gloves to keep his hands warm and pajama pants. But it seems like that’s what I get him every other year. Well, Channellock has a few ideas on what to get dads for Christmas.

You could always choose the classic Channellock. Channellock is a tool, it’s a name brand tool. Being a woman, I never realized that Channellock is another name for pliers in the man’s world. So, when my husband said hand me the Channellock, I looked at him like I have no idea what you are talking about. He said, “Pliers please” Oh ok, I can do that.  So get dad the Channellock VJ-1 Gift Set or you can him something new Channellock makes.

Get dad the 4 in 1 Ratcheting Wrench Set.

Channellock 4 in 1 wrench setclose up channellock 4 in 1 wrench set

The new 4-in-1 ratcheting wrench set, which includes two tools designed to do the work of eight combination wrenches or sockets. They are a great addition to any toolbox, so they’ll definitely make a great gift – especially for the men in our lives that always prove difficult to find a gift for! I think they all get a little excitement or gleam in their eye when they get a shiny new tool. You know what I’m talking about right?

For over 119 years, Channellock, Inc. has held firm to those and creates quality tools. They make pliers, wrenches, screwdrivers and special use tools.

CHANNELLOCK has over 4,000 wholesale and retail customers in the United States, and ships to customers in 45 countries around the globe.

The fifth generation of the DeArment family now helps guide our path and prepares to lead the company’s growth well into the 21st century. Jonathan S. DeArment serves as Director of National Accounts. Jon, Joanie and Ryan are the children of president and CEO, William S. DeArment. George B. DeArment founded the Champion Bolt & Clipper Company with a firm belief in four guiding principles: the belief that good management is never far from the factory floor; that people are more important than machines; that bigger doesn’t always mean better; and that dedication to excellence is the surest way to surmount adversity and to prosper.

For over 119 years, Channellock, Inc. has held firm to those four basic tenets and has become a jewel of the American free enterprise system by doing so.
