"I participated in this program on behalf of Look Good Feel Better and The Motherhood. All opinions are my own."
I wish I had a digital photo of my memaw that survived breast cancer while she was wearing her beautiful wigs. I did find a photo of her when her hair grew back so I’m posting that one.
While she was dealing with breast she wore amazing wigs. When she did die last year, (for other medical issues) we found all her cancer wigs and decided we needed to donate them to someone else that might be dealing with cancer. I also had an aunt who fought cancer for four years.
She had more life and beauty in her than anyone I have ever met. She was a prayer warrior and believed she would beat it. She never complained always smiled and wore lots of pink. And through her example she taught me more about faith and living in grace than anyone else ever has. She was always thinking about someone else reminding me of needs all around me. She learned a lot about cancer and found unique ways to treat it, she had determination like no other. She was even in remission. I think she was in remission twice but that evil thing we call Cancer is relentless and kept coming back. I don’t want to get any of the details wrong (I just don’t know what all she went through) but I still want to share just how courageous a woman she was. She DESERVES to be remembered and celebrated! Surgery after surgery, treatment after treatment. She was AMAZING a true image of beauty inside and out.
Which is why I’m so honored to join The Motherhood and Look Good Feel Better in celebrating 25 years of helping women from all over the country who are undergoing cancer treatments to look good and feel better! For their 25th anniversary, Look Good Feel Better is inviting you to share your story by using the Virtual Makeover Tool to share your before and after using the hashtag #ReimagineBeauty for a chance to win a trip to the National Women’s Survivor Convention, held July 31-August 2, 2014 in Nashville! The contest ends on July 1, 2014, and Look Good Feel Better will randomly select a winner in mid-July. The winner may attend the National Women’s Survivor Convention themselves or choose to give their prize to a friend or family member who is a cancer survivor.
Additionally, Wednesday, May 28 from 12-12:30 p.m.,we are having a twitter party. After the Twitter party wraps up, @TheMotherhood will be continuing to tweet and award additional prizes until 5 p.m. ET on May 28.
