I had the opportunity to review two products from Leading Lady’s website. I opted for two different styles of nursing camis, as I prefer camis or tank tops over nursing bras when breastfeeding. I like to wear a nursing cami every day for three main reasons: 1. to me they are more comfortable then nursing bras 2. they ensure easy options for feeding baby or pumping and 3. they also provide a layer of smoothing for the post-baby bumps or rolls.
Both of the Leading Lady tops washed well, have sturdy stitching and are thick, nice cotton. The Leading Lady website had many options for camis, tank tops or nursing bras. In fact, it was hard to pick just two to try out.
Leading Lady’s Nursing Bra Cami with Inner Sling is an essential piece for any breastfeeding mother’s wardrobe. It is a very basic style which is surprisingly hard to find even at large retailers, that specialize in maternity/nursing clothing. The Leading Lady Nursing Bra Cami with Inner Sling is long enough to pull down over the top of pants to help camouflage the post-baby muffin top. It’s also long enough to conceal if you’re still doing the rubber-band trick to button your non-maternity jeans- not that I would know anything about that… It fits snug to the body, but not tight, so you can wear it right after delivery and all through your breastfeeding time. The snap closures also make pumping easy.
The second product I reviewed is Leading Lady’s Shirred Front Nursing Tank (of note: limited edition). I liked this style as well, and would recommend it for moms right after delivery or for a supportive, comfortable sleeping top. I make that recommendation because the Shirred Front Nursing Tank is cut larger at the bottom to be comfortable for all postpartum tummies, especially for those of us who had to have c-sections, as it won’t rub at all on a healing incision. It’s also a great sleeping option because it’s a bit looser, while still supportive and allows for easy nursing access. It also keeps you cool while sleeping in case you too experience post-delivery hot flashes.
I am happy with the style and quality of both the Leading Lady’s Nursing Bra Cami with Inner Sling and Shirred Front Nursing Tank. When my nursing days are over I know these tops will be in great shape to be passed along to another mommy to use.
