Mr. Bubble 3 in 1: Body Wash Shampoo and Conditioner & iOS App Mr. Bubble

October 5, 2013 by Momstart Leave a Comment

It’s been a while since I’ve worked with Mr. Bubble but we haven’t stopped using it, that’s for sure. I just received samples from them of the Mr. Bubble 3 in 1, body wash, Shampoo and Conditioner and I’m excited to use it on the kids. Well, Miles has decided that he has outgrown bubbles but Zoe and I will enjoy it. Which brings me to the question? When are you supposed to separate your kids in the tub???

IMG_8586

I love the Mr. Bubble 3 in 1. Mr. Bubble makes getting clean almost as much fun as getting dirty. A gentle, hypo-allergenic formula that’s tear free and dye free. The bubblegum fragrance and tons of suds makes bath time fun! This 3-in-1 formula is perfect for cleaning from head to toe! This formula does not contain animal-derived ingredients and is not tested on animals. The other one is a sensitive formula that is extra gentle.

There is a new Mr. Bubble App that you can try if you have an iOS device, the Mr. Bubble! app.

Join the iconic Mr. Bubble character that has delighted kids & parents for over 50 years and splash, pop, paint and wash in a virtual bathtub. With big buttons for little fingers and lots of interactive animations and sounds, it’s an app kids won’t be able to put down.
NO ADS or IN-APP PURCHASES, the Mr. Bubble app comes compete with three fun mini-games to play:

imageVirtual Bath Time
Fill the tub, add bubble bath, splash & pop bubbles, play with a rubber duck and 5 other bath toys. Even get a visit from Mr. Bubble himself now and then!

Bubble Paint
Pick from a group of cartoon kids (or Mr. Bubble himself!) or use your own photo to paint on with bubble or foam soap. Make bubble beards or hair, just like when you play in a real bubble bath. You can then save or share your bubble paintings.

Mr. Bubble Washup
Get Mr. Bubble dirty with everything from beach sand, a messy peanut butter & jelly sandwich or a friendly (but muddy) dog, then turn on the shower and wash him clean!

Other Mr. Bubble Features:
– Works on all iPads (including the mini), iPhones and iPod Touches with iOS 5.1 or later!
– Beautiful Retina graphics for iPad and iPhone
– Designed for kids 3-6, with no text instructions to read
– "Child-safe" mode that keeps little ones from accessing the more complicated screens like settings, camera/photo album, or sharing photos via email.

Replenish Renew Repeat Weleda Body Wash

I love to use yummy smelling soaps and shampoos in the shower. My shower time is like a private little getaway. If I lock my bedroom door and have the water running and the fan on, I can’t hear the “MOM, he took my toy!” or the “MOM, I’m hungry! When are we going to eat?” or the “She’s hogging the TV and I want to use it!” Shower time is awesome. And when I have a bottle of fancy body wash, it’s just that much more like a little vacation than if it’s just a bar of soap.

So I was excited to try out this line of Weleda Creamy Body Washes. I received the Wild Rose and the Pomegranate in the mail. The brightly colored bottles look awesome in my shower (yes, I know it’s silly, but it’s all about the experience. I was excited to try them out. Both smell awesome, and the lather is intense! SUPER creamy! They’re all made out of natural, good for your body ingredients, so the smell isn’t just perfumes. And, most importantly, after showering, I felt clean, and I still smelled good.

But, there was one afternoon lately, here in the Pacific Northwest, that was not so summery… It was overcast and a little bit rainy, and I was FREEZING. So, I decided to take a bath! A nice, hot soak in the tub was exactly what I wanted to warm me up, since my hoodie, yoga pants, and slippers weren’t doing the trick. As I was filling the tub, I was thinking I really wished I had some bubble bath. Then I thought of the Weleda Body Washes in my shower, and wondered if they would work. I figured it couldn’t hurt, and at the very least, it would make the water smell good. So I opted for the Pomegranate, since that’s my favorite. Guess what! Tons of thick, luxurious bubbles! I was in the tub for a glamorous 45 minutes, and there were still bubbles when I reluctantly pulled my raisin fingers and toes out of the tub to re-enter the real world. Total bonus!

So a week later, when my daughter got a new Barbie water toy and wanted to use it in my BIG bathtub, I let her use some too, as a special treat. She has always had sensitive skin, so bubble baths have been few and far between for her. She loved the thick, yummy smelling bubbles, and when she got out, her skin was just fine. Not dried out at all. Can’t wait to use it this way again after spending my Saturdays in the bleachers watching my kids play football and soccer, likely in the rain! That’s when a hot, luxurious bath or shower is really the best.

Green Tip: Buy Chemical Free Products This Year, Here’s Our Chemical Free Product List

December 31, 2010 by Momstart 5 Comments

This marks the last green tip from Summer in our 31 days of  Red and Green here on Mom Start. Hopefully Summer will grace us with many more green tips and steps on making our lives more eco friendly in the future. Her last tip is about buying chemical free products and these are her chemical free product selections.

Are you ready to begin the New Year? Moreover, is your house ready for the New Year? Try and make yourself greener in the New Year by purchasing products not tested on animals and chemical-free. It is ok to start off with small changes in your toiletries. You know, small changes like in your shampoo, conditioner, make-up, lotions, toothpaste, etc. are a great place to start. I’ll share with you some of my favorite chemical free products:

Shampoo, Conditioner, and Body Wash – Trader Joe’s Refresh (for about $2 a bottle it’s a steal)

clip_image002

Lotions – St. Ives lotion

Deodorant – Arm & Hammer Essentials Natural Deodorant and Tom’s of Maine (make sure there’s no antiperspirant and that it’s aluminum free)

clip_image003
Lip Balm (and Other Beauty Products) – Burt’s Bees Lip Balm
clip_image005
Diaper Cream – Burt’s Bees Diaper Cream
clip_image007
Toothpaste – Tom’s of Maine

In finding and using products like these I feel good about my body and the environment. If needed, take little steps to introduce products such as these into your home. These are products I actually use and love. Be sure, as with any new product, that you test new products on a small area of skin if you have sensitive skin or believe you may have a reaction on a product.

Thank you for joining me in my red and GREEN December 2010 adventures! Hope I gave you some great ideas that made you and yours healthier and happier. Happy New Year!

Wash them grow with Suave and a chance to Win #giveaway

January 24, 2010 by Momstart 10 Comments

Last time my husband went to target he purchased some Suave soap. I found it hilarious when I found out a few weeks later that I was accepted into a Blog Tour with Mom Select and Suave to try out all four of their different body soap scents. It just ticked me that my husband picked out the same brand that we are now testing. It’s a brand that everyone is familiar with. The only difference is the packaging and the scent names. They have a “new look”, animals are on the bottles instead of kids. In the picture below you can see the berry flavor hiding behind the four new ones. It has a yellow lid and the flavor is listed on a yellow bar instead of the blue bar.

suave1

A money saving tip that I can give you is that if you head off to Target in the next few weeks, as these new bottles are heading to shelves, you’ll be able to find the older bottles on clearance. Target always puts old style packages on clearance. Great way to save money!

Suave Kids bath products have a nice tear free formula and a great fruity smell. We let each child pick out which one they wanted to use for bath time. Zoe picked the pink bottle completely based on color. She did notice that there are monkeys on the bottle too though.

suave2

Miles picked the one that was easiest to grab because he wanted to be just like his sister.

suave3When they were in the tub they each received some soap on their hands so that they could wash themselves. I’m such a proud mommy because I get so excited to see them both be so independent. We still do our own washing but feel it’s important to let them be independent too. Helps them grow. We don’t follow the recommended usage amount. Suave recommends that you use only a small amount, the size of a quarter. We just give the kids a blob and use a blob or two ourselves. I suppose if I was being frugal I would be using the recommended amount.

The Suave Kids® Wash Them Grow campaign encourages you to recognize your child’s bath time routine as an opportunity to teach, nurture and transition your child through the stages of growth and cleansing. When your child washes with Suave® Kids, you’ll experience the joy of milestone bath time moments with every single fun-loving splash, no matter what the stage of childhood.

Bath Time Tips exclusively from Suave Kids®:

  • Nurture Your Baby’s Firsts– While enjoying all your baby’s firsts, nurture skin with Suave Kids Free and Gentle Body Wash.  It provides a gentle clean with its dye-free formula, leaving skin clean and fresh.
  • Start teaching at bath time-Show kids how to get clean all by themselves and have fun int he bath with Suave Kids Body Wash.  Pour a little extra body wash in the tub to make fun and fragranced bubbles for them to play with and which also makes the bathroom smell great!
  • I can do-it-myself-When your child declares “I can do-it-myself”, Suave Kids Tear-Free Body Wash makes independent bath time less slippery with easy-to-use grip bottles.  Playful characters and fun scents like Strawberry and Berry will creat giggle-worthy, bubble-bearded bath time moments.

After bath time I asked Zoe if she knew what the smell was on her skin. She told me, “I smell like strawberries”. I was glad that she could recognize the fruit flavor. (might be that the monkeys were holding strawberries now that I think about it, but I’ll take it as pure genius anyways). Both of my children smelled so sweet. They still smelled quite fruity the next morning too.

My Thoughts on the Soap:

The soap is thick unlike most soaps. It coats your skin and smells very refreshing. I love the smell actually, I also liked how it lingered on me for a few hours. It’s nice to smell clean. I also like the scrubbing you get from the beads in the soap. It’s a nice body wash. It was relaxing and quite a treat to have 20 minutes to soak in the tub with a great smell as a break from being a mom.
