Part of the fun in holiday shopping is coming up with creative stocking stuffer ideas. Kids are easy – but what do you put in mom and dad’s stocking? For me personally, I find that small personal care items are always a good addition; not only is it something useful and practical, but also gives the recipient a chance to try new varieties and scents. Case in point: The family of Dry Spray Antiperspirants from Unilever!
These are a new type of antiperspirant, but coming from very familiar names: Degree, Dove, and Axe. Using an innovative technology, this spray goes on dry from the moment it touches on your skin. It’s a new way to keep dry, in more ways than one!
I’d never personally used spray-on deodorant or antiperspirant before being introduced to this. For whatever reason, I always assumed it wouldn’t work very well, so I never bothered; I’m also extremely limited in which deodorants I can use due to having very sensitive skin. Fortunately, Dove is one of the brands that I know to be gentle on my skin and is one that I have bought before. Dove Nourished Beauty Dry Spray Antiperspirant has that nice, soft Dove scent and went on easily – Shake, Spray, Dry! It also provides 48 hour odor and wetness protection, so my bias against spray deodorants was totally unfounded – if I apply this Dry Spray Antiperspirant at night, I can still smell the fresh fragrance the next morning.
One of the awesome things about using this spray is that there is no residue or tell-tale clumpy goop. I’ve actually been having this issue a lot this summer, because when I’m traveling and walking around hot places in a business suit, I like to carry a stick of deodorant in my purse and re-apply it through the day, just to touch it up and “Be sure”. The problem is, then I have white, sticky gunk that can get on my clothes – I have one black dress that I cannot seem to keep deodorant off of, no matter how long I let it dry before getting dressed. Dry Spray Antiperspirant solves that problem because it truly is invisible; this would be perfect for touch-ups through the day, since you could spray it around dress straps and be OK. It’s also a little like body spray, so you get that extra scent boost – I also tried Degree Women Fresh Energy, and I really liked its bright perfume notes.
Among the men’s antiperspirants are Axe Night, Dove Men+Care Clean Comfort, and Degree Men Adventure. I’ve always really liked the way Axe smells and I buy it for Jai regularly, so this antiperspirant was an automatic winner! While Jai hasn’t tried the Dove Men+Care antiperspirant line before, we are fans of their other products – in fact, I have bought Dove Men+Care body wash and shampoo as holiday gifts for Jai in the past, so this is a no-brainer stocking stuffer for him! Clean Comfort lives up to its name with a lighter scent, while Degree Men Adventure has a muskier scent with notes of wood and fresh pepper. All three of these smell great! I believe that these type of products make an especially good gift for husbands, because guys often don’t think much about the bath/body products that they use, so it’s a good chance to give them a scent they may not have thought to buy before. Jai now buys whatever brands that I’ve picked for him in the past when he has to buy new antiperspirant or body wash!
