I love Pirates of the Caribbean, I have all three movies (not on blu-ray yet, that I’m just a tad bit sad about) and I used to watch them all the time. I didn’t always have to get up with kids ya know so I would go to sleep watching movies over and over again and Pirates of the Caribbean was one of my favorites. I actually thought they were going to hang up their hats so to speak with the last movie, but instead they did something even better.
They just wrote a story that didn’t need Keira Knightley or Orlando Bloom and I’m just fine with that decision. I’m even happier that they picked Penelope Cruz for the movie because she’s one of my favorite actresses; she’s just really cute. In anticipation of the release of her new film, “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” in theaters May 20, 2011, Penelope Cruz received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Friday, April 1, at 11:30 am. in front of the El Capitan Theatre, 6834 Hollywood Boulevard, joined by “On Stranger Tides” co-star Johnny Depp, producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Rob Marshall. An Academy Award® winner Penelope Cruz has proven herself to be one of the most versatile actresses by playing a variety of compelling characters, and most recently, becoming the first actress from Spain to be nominated and to win an Oscar®.
Oh and I have to say yes, I do love Johnny Depp. Johnny Depp plays such a broad spectrum of characters and he’s so believable as all of them, and the stranger he is the better he is. When I was in LA in January as a guest to Disney, we had the opportunity to see the trailer in 3D, it was my very first experience enjoying 3D. Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean On Stranger Tides actually makes sense in 3D because the effects actually utilize the technology. The swords come at you as they fight. I can’t wait to go see this movie with my husband, and it will be a birthday present to myself as the movie comes out shortly after my birthday. Pirates of the Caribbean on Stranger Tides will be in theaters May 20th 2011.
Oh and I can’t forget to mention that we’re super excited about the video game release Lego Pirates of the Caribbean. We love playing all of the versions of the Lego Xbox 360 games, my husband loves them all so much that he’ll play them and earn all the points and then he’ll play them as me and earn all of the gamer points. We do enjoy playing these LEGO video games together too.
LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean Video Game Description:
Captain Jack Sparrow and his misadventures from the second film in the blockbuster franchise, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest. Confront the nefarious Davy Jones and dance with death amongst the blocky tentacles of the ferocious Kraken in LEGO-ized form for the first time.
Yep, we’ll be playing this game as soon as we finish playing LEGO Star Wars 3. We just received that one and we haven’t started playing it yet. We had to finish LEGO Indiana Jones 2.
