I went to Safeway and purchased both Silk Almond Coconut Blend AND Silk Almondmilk Protein + Fiber for my daughter Zoe. In March we found that Zoe was getting sick every day and had a very hard time making it to the bathroom before having an accident. For the longest time I thought she was having issues with apple juice but then when I realized we weren’t having that much apple juice anymore, we were just having applesauce, I wondered if it was really the apples that were bothering her. It turns out, my daughter was allergic to milk, Zoe has a lactose intolerance. I guess it runs in the family and Zoe has it the worst. My husband gets a tummy ache with ice cream, and my son was born lactose intolerant, although he grew out of it. So for my daughter we purchase Silk Almond milk and they have so many flavors. The Silk Almond Coconut Blend AND Silk Almondmilk Protein + Fiber are the newest ones for us to try.

I love the selection I can find at Safeway, not only did they have the two flavors we were looking for but they also had a coffee flavor that I look forward to trying soon.
I have to make dairy free recipes now and now that the Silk AlmondMilk contains extra fiber the kids are getting protein and fiber . I like to use Silk Almond milk for smoothies with almond milk and just for cooking with almond milk.
One recipe I’ve made is a Silk Almond Milk Strawberry Smoothie.
Silk Almond Milk Strawberry Smoothie Recipe
Ingredients:
1 cup Silk Almond Milk with Fiber
2 ripe bananas
4 cups whole frozen strawberries
2 cups of ice
Directions:
Put all ingredients in blender with the ice being the last ingredient you add. Blend on high for 30 seconds or until the smoothie is of desired consistency.
Another recipe we’ve made is the Tropical Smoothie Recipe.

thanks for the smoothie recipes!
I don’t have a problem with dairy products, and in fact, I eat a lot of dairy-based foods. But I’ve been meaning to pick up some of the flavored almond milk that’s available now to use in my smoothies, just for variety and a flavor boost. Thanks for the reminder, and for your smoothie recipe, which sounds delicious.
Wow, these smoothies look delicious! It’s going to be a hot one here today, and I could definitely go for one of these! Heading out to pick up some more Silk. #client
