Secret of the Wings – The Newest Adventure from Disney Fairies
I had no idea that Tinker Bell was such a sassy, sweet, spirited little fairy. Even though I’ve always been a huge Disney fan, I somehow missed out on the whole Tinker Bell thing. I just assumed she was a prissy and dainty girly girl… but boy was I wrong! Thanks to the wonderful world of Disney (and MomStart ;)) I was able to preview Secret of the Wings, the newest story from the world of Disney Fairies.
In Secret of the Wings Disney Fairies takes on the story of family and sisterhood. After creeping way too close to the Winter Woods, something very strange happens to Tinker Bell. True to form, Tinker Bell tinkers a way to go back and travel deeper into the cold Winter Woods hoping to find the cause of her mysterious shimmering wings. Once she meets Periwinkle, all of her wildest hopes and dreams come true – Tinker Bell discovers that she has a sister, another fairy born from the same laugh!
The real fun, and of course the real adventure, begins when these girls figure out how to stay together. Warm weather fairies are never supposed to go to the Winter Woods… and of course Winter Weather fairies aren’t supposed to travel into the warm weather. So what are two newly rejoined twin sisters supposed to do? Well that’s what Secret of the Wings is all about!
Within seconds of watching Secret of the Wings I knew I was in for a treat. I was truly amazed at the breathtaking animation. There were so many colors making everything come alive near the Great Pixie Dust Tree in Pixie Hollow. At the same time, the folks over at Disney Toon Studios did an astounding job creating the Winter Woods. The animation of the snowflakes was incredible! My favorite thing about the Winter Woods was the sound. Disney did an amazing job creating the still, calm, quiet that always comes with snow. (WHEW! Just had a little shiver only thinking about it!)
I think the biggest thing to know about Secret of the Wings is that while it might be a direct to DVD movie, it is still a full length Disney film. There is no shortage of Disney magic – the animation is breathtakingly realistic, the story is captivating, the characters come to life and touch your heart. All things you expect from Disney. Secret of the Wings was my first Disney Fairies experience, and has left me wanting more!
