By Summer,
Heifer International is a giving non-profit organization that was founded on the though, “children don’t need a cup, they need a cow.” Founder Dan West created Heifer for Relief and in 1944 was sending the first shipment of 17 heifers to Puerto Rico in order to provide families with livestock as well as training. The heifers would then supply milk and continuous support for the country as the heifer’s offspring was then to be passed on as a donation to another family. So the gift of food is never-ending.
