I don’t really ever have afternoon pangs. I choose food high in fiber and that seems to keep me full for a long time. Also water helps too or a cup of special tea. But I always allow myself a small snack in the evening so I dont feel deprived ever. (i.e. chocolate!)

My favorite trick to get through the afternoon hunger pains (around 2pm for me) is to drink the biggest glass of water I can. It actually does help.

How I get through the afternoon hunger pains usually varies depending on what’s available in the kitchen. Sometimes it’s yogurt, sometimes a slice of bread, and yes I’ve eaten cereal before, but dry without milk. If there’s a granola or cereal bar on hand I might eat those, but I try to save those for hubby’s lunches at work.

I don’t really ever get afternoon hunger pangs. I try to eat a fiber rich lunch to make sure it tides me over til dinner time. But sometimes I get more psychological hunger when I am bored or restless so I usually eat a small snack that has some crunch to it that will satisfy me without doing too much damage. 🙂

In the afternoon when I’m hungry I usually eat a sliced apple or a container of yogurt. Both are sweet and satisfy that afternoon craving in a healthier way than if I ate cookies or candy.
