Safety 1st for Perfect Baby Shower Gifts
Since this is our second baby, I don’t think we’re having an official baby shower. I don’t really know how all of that works. IF I were to have a shower though, I know how important all of the NECESSARY items are… and how their costs can really start to add up. That’s why I want to tell you all about the line of Advanced Solutions from Safety 1st. This line carries all of the little odds and ends that you either don’t know about as a first time mom, or simply forget about with your next kids. I’m talking about the things like tiny nail clippers, itty bitty Emory boards, thermometers, and bulb syringes. Thanks to Safety 1st, I’m not going to forget about these things, and I’m even able to take a look at the Advanced Solutions line before our newest addition gets here.
Safety 1st Advanced Solutions Smooth Clip Nail Clippers
Clipping itty bitty fingernails is one of the strangely stressful parts of parenting, and unfortunately, it has to be done ALL the time. It’s amazing how quickly those little fingernails can grow. When you add to that the wiggly hands, it’s just crazy. When Atticus was born, we had a pair of Safety 1st clippers, and I loved them. Having 2 emery boards ready to go along with the clippers is also a plus. You don’t think that those are something you will need, but those itty bitty nails aren’t always easy to keep smooth. A small emery board is just what you need to smooth away harsh edges.
Safety 1st Advanced Solutions One-Way Nasal Aspirator
Yes, you will probably get a bulb syringe from the hospital (assuming your doing a hospital birth) when you deliver. Let me tell you my opinion on a couple of things. You will need more than one because they are yucky. The bulb syringe from the hospital is great for newborn tiny noses, but after a month or so, sometimes you need something else. I really like the wide soft tip on the Safety 1st One Way Nasal Aspirator. I also like that it comes apart for cleaning!
Taking the temperature of an infant is very tricky. I definitely advise seeing what your pediatrician recommends regarding taking temperatures. Once you’re ready for ear thermometers though, it’s amazing how affordable and easy to use they’ve become. This backlit, talk out loud thermometer is okay to use on ears, on bathwater, and even on food! Obviously you want to make sure you use covers and have a clean device, but since this thermometer is only around $40, it’s a great purchase for any family.
These Safety 1st products are available at Target, Babies R’ Us, Amazon, and most places that baby gear is sold.
Whew! I can’t believe I’ve only got 16 weeks until my due date! I’m over halfway there and looking at these baby gadgets is really reminding me of how much there is to do to get ready.
Thanks to Safety 1st for letting me test out these items.
