It just kills me how toys are getting smarter and smarter! High tech toys are available at the drop of a hat or should we say at the drop of an unbelievable flying object!?! Air Hogs really embrace the race towards excellence in modern day air toys and RCs. I was super excited to learn about the Vectron Wave from Air Hog and my kids were pushing each other over for the chance to be the first to try it. Though I don’t condone the pushing I did understand their excitement. In fact, I’m not sure who was more excited actually, me or them.
What on earth is it?
“The Air Hogs Vectron Wave is an Unbelievable Flying Object! You have to see it to believe it! Wave Control™ altitude-sensing technology allows it to rise up and hover over any hard surface. No remote control required! Take your Vectron Wave experience to the next level with more advanced moves like using your feet, knees and even shoulders. Or use the attachable catch sticks and toss it with a friend to play catch.”
How does it work?
The Vectron Wave is made of super light Styrofoam, a small engine and propeller. Your hand or another hard surface is detected by the sensor and controls steering. If you get the hang of it you can use your feet and knees or anything, really. It is pretty neat to watch and really fun once you do get the hang of it. Intended age is 8-10 which I think was a little off. Perhaps 10-12 is what I would recommend. It does require batteries to charge the unit.

What did we think?
I recommend that you watch a YouTube video or two for tips and pointers before you start, there are several good ones. That being said, we did not watch them before we started ……
Our first launch was somewhat of a failure because once the motor turned on the Vectron Wave waved bye bye and took off to ricochet off the ceiling and wall. After a good belly laugh and an “oh my word!” we tried again. This time we did indeed get it to hover! Now for steering… I put my hand up to steer and got a little too close, the Vectron Wave it waved my finger right into the propeller. Yes, it hurt. This unfortunate incident ended our attempts at space flight. The crash landing damage from my finger being in the wrong place at the wrong time unfortunately ended my career as a drone pilot but I live on for another day.

Though my career in space flight was short lived, I fell in love with this company! They truly strive to make innovative toys for our kids that make them better, smarter people. The science technology behind these Unbelievable Flying Objects is outstanding. This company has done well by us as parents and I would definitely say buy one! In fact check out all that they have and dig into their website and YouTube channel. A sincere well done Air Hogs team!
