Remembering Christmas Past With Babies R Us #BRUChristmas Giveaway

November 22, 2013 by Momstart 144 Comments

compensated post, opinions are my own.

From now until December 7th, Babies “R” Us will be inviting fans to come shop at their stores across the U.S. each Saturday for gift ideas, holiday shopping tips, deals, giveaways and much more to help families with kids of all ages, especially those with newborns, get ready for the holidays. What they really want to help you experience or remember are your Christmas traditions and something even more special, your babies first Christmas. image

Now I had to dig for this photo of my daughter’s first Christmas. She was born in January so when Christmas came around she was very mobile and almost a year old. We celebrated big by getting her a Step Two Victorian Kitchen that is still used to this day, almost six years and another child later. She’s always been my princess, cuddle buddy and shopping guru.

image

From the time they were both very little we’ve been shoppers for others at Christmas. We love going to the store to purchase things for others and Babies R Us is a great place to get everything you need for a babies first Christmas.

image

Another family tradition is that we love to fill photo frames with a family picture and with pictures from the kids together. One year 20 years from now we’ll have a Christmas tree full of family memories.

image

We love to play with LEGOS

image

And we spend every December playing with Advent Calendars. We used to just refill this one that you see below, but now we go all out with LEGO Advent Calendars. The LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar 2013 and the LEGO Friends Advent Calendar 2013 .

image

Babies R Us wants to know what your babies first Christmas was like and how each of your Christmas’s have gone thereafter. To get you excited about sharing your memories with us we have a $50 Gift Card Giveaway. Follow Them on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest pages.

My Christmas memories are of going to my grandparents house. All the cousins used to go out caroling while the adults visited. It was a ton of fun. We also were allowed to open one gift on Christmas Eve. My kids have the same tradition of one gift on Christmas Eve.

My favorite Christmas memories are Christmas Eve with the entire family at my grandparents house – lots of food, games, music, laughs.. and they always had someone dressed as Santa show up (complete with noises on the roof). Just such a magical time. As I got older I’d spend the days leading up to Christmas Eve baking with my grandma & cousins. We still have a big family gathering like my grandparents would host now that they are gone.

Every year when we were kids we would go out and pick out a christmas tree. We would decorate as a family and my mom would make us cookies.

My family and I like to celabrate on Christmas Eve. We have a huge dinner that day, we exchange presents at exactly midnight, and then all 8 siblings and our families go to the movies. We’ve been doing for years. It’s awesome!

We go out every weekend in December to look at light displays as a family as well as bake a treat (ie cookies, sausage balls, ect)to take with us on our excursions. We always spend Christmas Eve watching movies and just spending quality time together. My oldest will be 16 on Christmas this year and I try to make the most of every day I have with them while they still want to be at home.
