Working in social media means that I run down my phone battery very quickly! Every time I go on a business trip, I find my eyes darting around the walls of every building I’m in, looking for an outlet to charge up my phone. I’ve gone through two battery packs in the last few months: The first one was a good charger, but my iPhone didn’t recognize it and refused to take a charge from it. The second one was awesome and powered my phone up for a decent amount of time, but then it broke soon after I received it and wasn’t fixable, despite my attempts to mend it with tape. 😉
So when I first laid eyes on the myCharge Transit 2600, I knew this was the solution to my woes. This bad boy is a battery pack that means business: Hooking your phone up to the myCharge is meant to provide up to 11 hours of talking time and up to 8 hours of browsing time. 8 hours! I thought of the times recently where I’d run out of juice on the plane, or had to turn my phone off during an event because I wanted to conserve my 9% battery life. 8 extra hours of time would sure fix that problem!
And when it comes time to recharge your charger, you have two options: Either a traditional wall outlet, or a cigarette lighter plug to use in your car! I loved this thing already, and I hadn’t even taken it out of the box yet. In fact, when I was taking pictures of the box, a friend noticed it and said, “That’s a nice charger!” Again…I hadn’t even taken it out of the box yet. 😉
And once you do take it out of the box, you can begin using it immediately, because it comes pre-charged! I was so glad for this, because it saved the day for me. During a particularly busy day when I needed to use my phone to take photos and text friends, I realized my phone had accidentally been left on and was at 1% charge when I was about to walk out the door. Arrgh! And since I was running around, trying to charge it on the wall would have been a lot less convenient. So I simply pulled out the myCharge Transit, hooked my iPhone cable into it, and turned it on. Bingo! My phone began charging instantly. No issues recognizing my phone! No masking tape holding the wires together! 8 hours of charge time! The charger is also small and light, making it easy to carry around.
The myCharge Transit is going to be absolutely perfect for me this summer, as I have about 4 weeks of business traveling ahead of me. And when you work in my field, these events involve a lot of Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook usage, not to mention checking work emails on the phone, making calls, using GPS, and so on. In fact, as you read this, I am at BlogHer and probably using the myCharge right this very instant. 😉 A product like this is an absolute necessity for the work I do, and for anyone who uses their phone a lot – whether it’s for work or just for fun!
