Pound Cake Candy Bites Recipe $50 Giveaway @SaraLeeDesserts

As I knew I would, I missed pound cake day. I hope you guys didn’t since I told you about it before hand. I was traveling, but I did make something for my kids so they could enjoy pound cake day while I was gone. I made Pound Cake Candy Bites. Recipe Contest is back on our Facebook page

Pound Cake Candy Bites

Ingredients:

Package of Wilton Candy Melts
Package of Sara Lee Pound Cake
Creative Sprinkles

Directions:

Melt the Candy according to directions on the package
Cut the pound cake into small squares
Dip the pound cake squares into the melted candy
Place candy coated pound cake on wax paper
Cover with sprinkles of your choice

Let harden according to Candy Melt directions

 

 

To bring some extra yumminess to this fun food day, Sara Lee Desserts recently expanded its pound cake lineup with its new lemon flavor. They have five varieties now available at retailers nationwide where Sara Lee Desserts are sold. Here’s a quick rundown of their current offerings, all ready-to-serve:

· All Butter Pound Cake – Classic pound cake made with real butter has the same homemade taste families have enjoyed for more than 60 years

· Light & Dreamy Pound Cake – Lower calorie variety (80 calories per serving) that has 100 percent less cholesterol and 55 percent less fat than Butter Pound Cake

· Lemon Pound Cake – Made with real lemon juice and the first new loaf variety in more than 10 years

· Pound Cake Slices – Single-serve and pre-cut slices portioned and individually packaged to ensure freshness for on-the-go enjoyment. Available in Original and Double Chocolate flavors

    My favorite way to use pound cake is as a substitute for the shortcakes in strawberry shortcake. The pound cake absorbs the strawberry juices–yummy!

    Oh those look so good! I think it would be fun to cut pound cake into different shapes (to make whatever object you want) then frost and decorate it. You could even make different ones for the kids or other people, depending on what they like, hobbies, etc. Fun!

    Slice pound cake thinly and use cookie cutters to cut out. Frost with colorful glaze and use remaining pound cake pieces in pudding

    I have heated a little butter and stirred in brown sugar, cinnamon and chopped nuts and drizzled it on the pound cake. I call it “Cheaters Coffee Cake”.

    Poke the cake with a skewer. Mix together 1 14 oz. cream of coconut and 1 14 oz. sweetened condensed milk. Pour over pound cake. Let absorb. Cover the sides and top with Cool Whip. Sprinkle cake with coconut.

    You can make cake french toast by taking pound cake slices, dip them in egg yolk, grill on the stove and add syrup and whipped cream on top!

    I think SaraLee Pound Cake is so good that I usually just eat it plain (toasted is delicious!)
    We love to eat pound cake with fresh fruit (peaches or berries) and whipped cream. Your recipe sounds delicious. I think my kids would have fun making the candy bites.

    I once cut up a pound cake and shaped the pieces into a tractor for my sons first birthday cake! It’s firmer than any other cake and worked great for shaping!
