Philips Micro Dose Mammography – High image quality, low dose #PHILIPSBCA Giveaway

October 5, 2013 by Momstart 92 Comments

As you all know, breast cancer runs in my family and it’s really important that we get screened regularly and earlier than most women so I’m happy to share news about Philips Micro Dose Mammography. Yes this is a “sponsored post by Philips Healthcare” using information Philips provided but I’m also using my own experiences and opinions in this post. BCA_logo_text_Edit

Personalizing breast care together: A single image can help reveal breast cancer before it reaches a critical stage. A single image can change a woman’s life. Philips offers a complete family of advanced imaging systems to help deliver quality care at every stage of life. Our imaging solutions give the complete picture, helping make diagnoses, less invasive therapy and personalized care a reality for every woman. For example, Philips’ MicroDose Mammography delivers high-quality breast images at a low radiation dose. MicroDose Mammography is also designed to provide a less stressful mammography experience. Phillips MicroDose Mammography system has been added to their Pink illuminations and a Mammography Truck roadshow, awesome right?

The key advantage for patients is the lower dose offered by the Micro Dose mammography system. Women’s breasts are sensitive to radiation, and it is therefore crucial that the mammography equipment exposes women to as little radiation as possible. Micro Dose is tailored for high-volume breast cancer screening where a large number of healthy women are examined on a regular annual or bi-annual basis. The state-of-the-art ergonomic design, with warmed, curved breast support, enables clinicians to perform the examination in less than five minutes, and provides outstanding patient comfort. Built with both patients and clinicians in mind, as many as 15 four-image examinations per hour can be performed, while the ergonomic design helps reduce the risk of work-related, repetitive strain injuries to technologists.

What drives Philips Healthcare is to create the future of health care and save lives.  They do this by developing innovative solutions across the continuum of care in partnership with clinicians and and their customers to improve patient outcomes, provide better value and expand access to care. Plus they really like to get to know the stories because getting personal allows them to understand our needs.

Donate, Purchase items from companies that offer “pink” products that some of the proceeds go to Breast cancer research. And one thing that you can do for someone w/breast cancer is be there – listen when they want to talk, sit w/them when they don’t, And remember – everyone deals w/their diagnosis in a different way – the person may be acting like nothing is going on – their way to cope! (Thanks for the chance….)
