Louise is on the road right now, so she’ll be sharing her updates after she returns.
Today marks our first month on Nutrisystem – wow! The time has really flown, and I must say, this was the most chaotic month I could imagine! I swear that literally every single thing that could have happened, did happen. Traveling multiple times through the month? Check. Nasty, awful 2 week cold? Check. Loved one hospitalized for a week? Check. Tax time? Check. Every major work and personal project that you could imagine all coincided this month. Thank goodness we had Nutrisystem as our rock so that we at least did not have to worry about trying to deal with cooking! I know that without Nutrisystem, I would have been eating very badly.
I do feel like I wasn’t able to make the most of this first month because of the external stresses, but we still have a net weight loss and the assurance that we are so much healthier than we would have been if we’d tried to survive the April 2014 gauntlet on our own! The last two weeks in particular were hard because we made the 4+ hour roundtrip to Portland more times than we can count because of the hospitalization and then traveling. This made it tough for both Jai and I, because although we really took care to pack our own snacks and bring our Nutrisystem entrees along, there were instances when eating on program was impossible because I was at a business dinner or Jai was making an unexpected hospital trip. However, we both made an effort to eat the same kind of portion sizes and try to eat as healthy as we could – although I couldn’t resist ordering chicken and waffles when I was in Memphis. đ
My goal for this coming week is to really focus on drinking water and getting adequate rest, since I get pretty dehydrated traveling and have a lot of sleep to catch up on. Jai and I discuss more about our fitness goals for May and how we’ve been dealing with challenges in this month’s video:
How are your fitness goals coming this month?
Oh I need to try this out when I give birth! Looks like a great challenge. Congrats on the weight loss!
Congrats to both of you for the weight loss. Since it is getting nice out hopefully you all will have an easier month and get some of your fitness goals on track. Keep up the good work!
Great job guys! I know it is tough to stick to a plan, but you are doing awesome!
I’ve always wanted to try Nutrisystem. Not sure I could get my hubby on board! Great progress so far- keep it up!
That is pretty awesome – congrats to you both!!
That is fantastic. Keep it up.
Good luck with the couples challenge. It is more motivational when you are in it together.
