This is a partnered post with Single Edition Media on behalf of La Brea Bakery.
Oh YUMMY! You already know I’m happy to be working with La Brea Bakery. La Brea Bakery is the leading artisan bread in the United States, and is sold in 7,000-7,500 accounts (retail outlets and chains) nationwide. But not only that they are thinking about the community. La Brea Bakery is running a Thanksgiving promotion where users will be encouraged to nominate their “Thanksgiving Hero”. A Thanksgiving Hero is someone you know and love who they regularly work on Thanksgiving serving others (such as firefighters, police, waiters, etc.). La Brea Bakery will deliver fully catered meals to 5 finalists across the nation on Thanksgiving. Submissions close Nov 15th 2015. I nominated my cousin. I had a hard time choosing between my cousin and my aunt they both are deserving. They are both nurses that often work on Thanksgiving. As a large family we never had Thanksgiving on Thursday anyway because there was no way everyone could make it. We would always celebrate on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. This made it easier for family members like my cousin who had to work on Thanksgiving day. My cousin is a single mom living with my aunt her mom.
She takes very good care of her daughter and carries the joy of life around with her along with a bucket of sarcasm. But her sarcasm is that quick wit that cracks you up and makes you smile causing even more joy around her. You can’t take this girl serious and she doesn’t want to be. She wants you to laugh. It’s like she realizes you only have one life so you better make the most of it. This picture is of her at work on Halloween.
She’s a really good nurse, she’s very smart and works very hard. So on Thanksgiving while most people are eating and watching football she’s cleaning bed pans and holding hands of those in need and all alone.

Nurses really do make a difference. Both my parents are nurses and they have gotten to be with people in their last moments and have some very special stories over the years.
What a wonderful campaign. Nurses are truly amazing and do so much that many people don’t even realize.
This is a wonderful campaign. So many work so hard on holidays like Thanksgiving and go without seeing their own families.
Nurses really do make the difference between good care and great care. I am glad you are nominating your cousin for thanksgiving hero, she deserves it
This is such a great initiative! Nurses really need more recognition!
Nurses deserve a lot of our praise and thanksgiving for sure. Great idea about celebrating Thanksgiving on Saturday. Good luck in the contest!
