January is often thought of as being a depressing month, but honestly, as I get older I find myself getting excited for January to begin every year. Although it may seem arbitrary, the shift in focus to a new start in the new year after the chaos of the holidays gets me motivated for planning, building and doing. Sure, we all make New Year’s resolutions that we don’t keep, but I look at it much like this Lifehacker article on making the most of “Motivation waves”: Just because I may not be as pumped up about my goals in February doesn’t mean that I can’t continue making progress. When I looked at my planner from the beginning of 2015 and saw just how much I’ve achieved this year, it felt great!
Self-care is always one of my top resolutions/goals, and one of my works-in-progress is looking for new and better ways to care for my skin. So when I had the chance to try out a bottle of Erasa XEP-30, I thought this would fit in well with my New Year’s plans! Erasa is a skin care concentrate that is worn under your normal moisturizer. It can be applied to both the face and neck during the morning and evening. It comes in a very pretty bottle that will look nice on any vanity, and the concentrate itself also has a pretty, shimmery sheen that absorbs into the skin. It has a very thick, sticky consistency, not unlike a gel, but smooths onto the face and wears well. I’ve been enjoying it so far – my skin can be quite sensitive to even hypoallergenic products, but this one hasn’t given me any trouble yet; so far so good! The only minor issue I encountered was that my foundation seemed a little streakier/harder to apply when wearing Erasa XEP-30 and moisturizer underneath – this could have something to do with the combination of my foundation brand or skin type, I’m not sure – so I’ve just been wearing it at night. All in all, I’ve been enjoying Erasa and look forward to incorporating it into my daily 2016 skin care routine!
