In conjunction with the upcoming film Loving, Focus Features has teamed up with Twitter to create an emoji that celebrates interracial couples. Any tweet using the hashtags #VoteLoving, #ThisisLoving or #LovingMovie will automatically populate an interracial loving couple emoji, representing Mildred and Richard Loving. Building on this is the new LOVE-MOJI App, available on iOS and Google Play, which allows users to choose from a variety of interracial and same-sex couple emojis. There were previously no emojis or options to represent interracial couples, which is why Loving and Twitter created this option.

Loving documents the real-life story of Richard and Mildred Loving, whose landmark civil rights case, Loving v. Virginia, struck down the United States laws banning interracial marriage in 1967.
