Dog lovers, get ready for a summer tearjerker! Coming to theaters August 17th, Alpha is an imaginative take on the domestication of dogs. Taking place in the last Ice Age, Alpha follows the story of a lost, injured boy who discovers a hurt wolf while trying to find his way home. Man and beast are forced to help one another if they want to survive, for a story that will touch the hearts of anyone who loves man’s best friend.
Alpha is the first release from Jeff Robinov’s Studio 8, which has 25 movies set to debut over the next 5 years. Robinov has overseen a slew of blockbusters in his career prior to founding Studio 8, including The Hangover, The Dark Knight, Gravity, Argo and Inception – so Studio 8 is one to watch! Alpha Film Synopsis:
An epic adventure set in the last Ice Age, ALPHA tells a fascinating, visually stunning story that shines a light on the origins of man’s best friend. While on his first hunt with his tribe’s most elite group, a young man is injured and must learn to survive alone in the wilderness. Reluctantly taming a lone wolf abandoned by its pack, the pair learn to rely on each other and become unlikely allies, enduring countless dangers and overwhelming odds in order to find their way home before winter arrives.
