Sony paid for my hotel, airfare and other accommodations while I was in Hawaii for the Jumanji Press Junket.
The Jumanji Press Junket was of course different from other press junkets I’ve been on, for one because it took place in Hawaii. I mean come on, how does it get better than that? Well, depending on which press group you were in, the benefits were even more than that. Our group, took part in the Helicopter Tour, but other groups also received a tour of The Ranch and got to explore the jungle. Jumanji is an adventure movie and we all experience something. Press Junkets aren’t all fun and games though, (but mostly they are). There is also the very long day of interviews, the actors and the press. There is a lot of waiting around for those 5 to 20 minutes of interviews. But it’s all worth it. And this one, had the award of a little cocktail party at the end of our day of interviews.
One of the great things about these trips are the connections you make while you are on them. These two here in this photo have been friends of mine for years and I met them at a press junket.
Now this cocktail party also included mixology lessons. We had a great time making and drinking drinks. The bartender actually let us go behind the bar and mix the drinks.
Shake don’t stir
And serve with a smile
A lot of us hung out and swapped business stories. It’s a great way to connect and learn more. I got some great advice, which sort of goes along with the movie. I’ve been floundering with my job, just not sure what I want to do and how I want to do it. I was reminded that I need to do me. I have one life to live and I get to choose how to live it. Watch how the characters of Jumanji learn this same lesson in theaters………December 20th.
