Have you ever had a stuffed burger? I wasn’t even sure what a stuffed burger was until Good Cook sent me the supplies I needed to create one myself we started having fun with it. We tried a few different recipes and I can’t wait to share all of them with you but I’m going to start with the family favorite, our Macaroni & Cheese stuffed hamburger recipe.
Like I said we had a lot of fun making these burgers. I made my favorite home made macaroni and cheese recipe for lunch then we used the leftovers that night to make the stuffed burgers. We made my husbands favorite hamburger mix. And my husband told me that the key to making hamburgers it to not overwork the meat. You have to gently mix in salt, pepper and cheese. Then use the good cook stuffed burger press.
Macaroni & Cheese Stuffed Hamburger Recipe:
1 lb hamburger meat
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
3 ounces cheddar jack cheese
1 Tablespoon Macaroni and cheese
Gently mix the salt pepper and cheese into the hamburger meat
Place one layer of meat in the stuffed burger press
Place the Tablespoon of macaroni and cheese on top of the first layer
Now place the top of the mixed meat on top of the mac and cheese and gently press the meat together. Be sure to remember that keeping the meat loose will make the burger light and not thick and chewy.
Now cook the burger on the grill, or a cast iron square grill (I received from the Good Cook company.)
Flip when the edges are brown.
