Kohl’s Mother’s Day Diamond Earrings Giveaway

May 5, 2010 by Momstart 477 Comments

I recently went to Kohl’s for a mommy indulgence of new jeans, and a shirt for a great price. As a mom and the family budget keeper, it’s my job to bargain shop. Saving money is making money and Kohl’s always has something on sale. This last Christmas, I received a beautiful necklace from my stepmom and dad. It was gorgeous and it said on the tag that it was 75.00. But knowing that my stepmom follows the same budgeting values that I do, I’m pretty sure she got it on sale.

Now with Mother’s Day on the horizon Kohl’s Jewelry Department is on sale. Find exquisite pieces marked up to 60 percent off. Kohl’s jewelry department is the place to shop for quality mother’s day gifts she’ll love, or jewelry gifts for any occasion. To celebrate this huge sale going on at Kohls, they are giving away a set of diamond earrings valued at 1750.00.

These earrings are the perfect gift for yourself or someone special – what woman wouldn’t love a gorgeous pair of diamond earrings to make her sparkle. They are certified, high quality and can be found at Kohls, for an amazing price!

The earrings have a four-prong setting with 14k gold screwback posts. The certification includes an International Gemological Institute certificate of authenticity that verifies clarity, color and carat weight. And they come in a cute white leatherette gift box.

My partner and I raise our daughter along with the mother, Cindy. Together, we have forged a supportive, loving network which wasn’t always so easy. But with all of us focused on what is best for Hannah, we have found our way and made it work.

My mother is without a doubt the best. She’s always done whatever was needed to raise me into the adult I am today. However, she’s not the person that I would gift these earrings to. That would be the woman that I hope to someday make my wife. You see for the past 5 years she’s helped me raise my 9y/o daughter into the young lady that she grows into everyday. Helping to do her hair and explaining the ways of life, she has taken a great load off of my shoulders though she isn’t biologically a mom. I have no doubt that in the future she’ll be a great mother to the children we have together.

My favorite Mother’s Day was just a few years ago. The kids made me breakfast which they delivered to my bed. Most of the milk from the cereal sloshed in my bed during delivery. The gummy bears were served as breakfast dessert. It really was just so sweet of them.

This year I will be celebrating my third official Mother’s Day. I think my favorite so far was my first – my husband got a necklace and pair of earring for me that I loved (sending him the link by email helped) and my aunt gave me a wonderful watch for the occasion. But the best part was being able to get out of the house and have lunch with my girlfriend, I then went to the bookstore and when I returned home all I did was read and lounge while my husband took care of my son. The best Mother’s Day ever!

      Hi Renee,

I have to say that favorite mother’s Day was before my daughter was born. We found out the weekend before that I was pregnant and it was the best present I could ever get, finding out that I was a mother. I love that you were able to get some time to yourself for your first Mother’s Day. Sometimes I think Time is the most precious gift anyone could give us.

My best Mother’s Day was 21 years ago and it was also my first Mother’s Day. I was just so thrilled to have a beautiful baby boy! I am indeed very blessed to have two wonderful sons. I am so proud of each of them. They are honor students, both are Eagle Scouts and most importantly they are honest, kind people. Every Mother’s Day is so special to me because I am just so thankful to be a mother.

My mother has always been my loudest and most loyal cheerleader. Whatever I wanted to do or thought I could do, she was right behind me, cheering me on. This may be our last Mothers Day because she is 83 now and in very poor health. Her will to live is at a bare minimum these days since we lost my brother to cancer in January 2010. It unimaginably difficult for a mother to lose a child. I feel very, very sad for her. Anyway, she always love diamond stud earrings and hers were lost somehow when they moved upon retirement.

I would like to honor my mother this mothers day becaus she has gone down some dark roads with both my brother and I. Often times when the kids are addicted to drugs the blame is placed on the parents and I find this to be far from the truth in most situations.
My mother did everything a mother should and way more as my brother and I chose to journy down the distructive path of substance abuse.
The best mothersday gift according to my mother is that both her kids are clean and sober today and have been for years now.
I cant imagine the fear all the sleepless nights brought my mother those nights I chose to disappear. The nights she drove around in the dark looking for me only to go to work the next day…

My mom deserves these earrings because she has been so devoted to me. I became chronically ill when I was 13 and was bedridden for five years. When her company went out of business, even though she wanted to go back to work, she stayed home to take care of me. She’s supported me everyday, and I know she’s always said she wished she could trade places with me. I’m starting medical school this fall to help other sick kids with similar health issues, and would not have been able to do it without my mom’s help all these years.

I think is has taken me 29 years (ahem) to finally realize that my mother loves me more than I can ever love her (and I love her a lot). She is my mother and always will be. She still worries about whether or not I am wearing a coat when it is cold outside, cuts my favorite cucumber snack for me when I visit, and won’t let me leave her house without saying “I love you” or giving her a hug. THAT is why she deserves to win, in my opinion.

My mother is the strongest, most wonderful person I know! My mom was basically a single mother, who raised me and my 4 siblings. My dad was a marine, who seemed to be gone most of the time, but not once did my mother ever complain about that. Still to this day, after she has accomplished so many things, to the loss of my father, to beating breast cancer, and being an awesome grandma, she has taught me so many things. I know that I am a better mother for my own children after having such an incredible role model!

My Mother is now a Single woman after being in a very bad marriage for many years. She moved from Oregon to Pennsylvania, and left everything she knew behind, to live near me when I was pregnant with my first (of four) Children. This was 12 years ago. She has since moved to Florida to go School and has been there for a couple of years with me being the closest relative in PA. My Mother is the most generous person that I know. She is giving of her time, her love, her money, her vehicle etc. if it will help somebody in need. She will give to anybody who asks on the streets or in her family without asking for anything in return. I once witnessed her pay for a complete stranger’s complete purchase, at Kmart, when they realized she did not have her wallet with her. This purchase was well over $100 worth of stuff. No Strings. My Mother works from paycheck to paycheck and does not have “extra” money. She is a rare and exceptional lady. She is a Woman of Great Faith. She taught me that it does not matter what people are asking for or what reason they need it, it is the condition of your attitude and heart when you give. I have watched her, over all my childhood and adulthood, overcome many tragedies and trials. She is a Very Strong Individual who is truly a Blessing to all that have had the priveledge to know her. She has helped me with my family in so many ways. She is truly an inspiration and a Joy to me. (even though I may not have always felt that way growing up – as an adult and mother, I now understand and appreciate so much more)
I would love for my Mother to have these Earrings. It is habit for her to bless others. I would like to see her blessed 🙂 Thank you for this fabulous giveaway and opportunity 🙂 Good Luck to all the Fabulous Mom’s and {early} Happy Mother’s day to all 🙂

I grew up with my mom wearing clip-on earrings, and because she got her ears pierced later in life, she doesnt own a lot of earrings. What a special treat these earrings would be for her! Thanks!

Sorry to say my mom passed away back in 2000 @ 61…..When I was in my teens I didn’t get along with her that well. When I married my first husband we became close. The unfortunate thing is she spent many nights worrying if I would be alive the next day because he was an abusive man. My mom lived long enough to see me marry again to a wonderful man and she found out before she died that we were having a baby girl. She was excited about that because she wanted me to have a another girl. She also was happy with my first two kids from my first marriage. She was always worried because I had a hard time raising them alone with my oldest of the first 2 being autistic and her too sick in the end to help me. I am so glad she got to see us all do better in life. She wanted to leave me her engagement ring but unfortunately who knows where it went. You know how some families could be. Now one will ever tell. I would love to win these as a sign of me and my mother, 2 diamonds in the ruff who came out of a lot of bad situations pretty okay. I’m sure she is okay now looking down on me. I miss you mom.

I gotta tell you, my mom works her butt off! She was a SAHM until my brother and I were old enough to stay home alone. Then she worked for a year or two and found that she didn’t spend enough time with us. So, again, she quit her job to be there for us. Her and my dad started two construction businesses and to this day, they couldn’t run a day without her! She’s fantastic and I know that she has never had a pair of diamond earrings, even after all of her years of hard work. She definitely deserves them now!

My Mom deserves these because when we were growing up, she never bought anything for herself. She always did without so us kids could go to private school and eat healthy food, and even occaisionally have a toy or too. But she never though of herself.
For once, I would like her to have something pretty to wear and to show her how much I appreciate what she did for us.

My mom helped me raise my son to be an intelligent, articulate, caring man who respects himself, and the people around him… not sure I could have done that on my own. That’s the greatest gift anyone could have given me, and these earrings would be a small token to repay her for what she’s given me.

Considering that statistically (in the area where I live) at his age he should have dropped out of high school, fathered at least 2 kids by now, been arrested more than once and jailed at least once, the fact that he’s in school doing well, mentoring kids and wants to be a teacher is a great source of pride for me.

wow, so many heartwarming stories that describe the true beauty of a mother’s soul. my mom is constantly thinking about and doing for others. i wish i could give her so much more than i am financially able, but unfortunately these earrings are definitely far out of my college student budget. thus, they would be such a surprise to give her if i am so blessed to win them! while my mom doesn’t need any tangible object to know i love her, they would act as a nice reminder.

Almost eight years ago, my mother passed away from an enlarged heart. Growing up, my sister and I would always compete on who could give her the “Best” gift for Mother’s Day. Some years we were so competitive, we would end up fighting with each other. I guess it was normal sibling rivalry. No matter what gift she received, she was always grateful and very happy with us.
Through my early teens, still fighting with my sister over Mother’s Day gifts, I took my mother for granted. We would always spend the day together, just the three of us, because my mother was a single parent. One July my mother was very sick, and passed away. I remember one of the last things she said to us was “I wish you guys would just get along.”
After Mom passed away, I realized how much I loved my sister, and how my sister was the only person I had left who loved me and who I could depend on. Every Mothers Day we celebrate our lives, we go out and do things together in remembrance of our mother who taught us so much, and helped bring us closer together.

My mom was a great mom in so many ways but, she passed away last Summer. My Mother in law has been amazing too in the 4.5 years of our marriage. She has been there for us as a sounding board, helped financially when we didn’t know what we would do, and she’s done something that most women envy and that’s to stay out of our business! ha ha. She has been a major blessing these last four years and that’s no lie!

They ended up both drowning. I think every year, when Mother’s Day comes, even though it’s a happy day for my mom, it’s still always a little sad because she can’t talk to my sister or be with her. I think these earrings might cheer her up a little bit and help her to be happy 🙂

I would secretly fly back home, without telling her, and have Dad make up some boring excuse about having to take her to the dentist for a checkup or something. He would then drive her around until they arrive at her favorite public park where she loves to take walks, until she finds me sitting on a bench, with a rose, a pair of earrings and a poem I wrote 😀

Her beauty and strength are more than skin deep.
Her faith and values are what we reap.
Her actions taught us faith and love.
    And learned about God above.
Hard work and dedication can bring anyone’s dreams.
She made the money by mending other’s seams.
In her community, she hired moms in her sewing business.
Helping other families to make ends meet, she is a saint I must confess.
She cared for her parents into their nineties.
Which brought laundry, doctors and their fees.
She worked 80 hour weeks to pay for our college degrees.
With a drop in salary, my dad became a teacher at mid life.
She helped him live his dream and end his business job strife.
At 26, my sister became a young police widow.
Mom held her through all the moments that were low.
She told all of us that losing our faith would be our only foe.
With her, we all made it through the grief. How did she know?
All the time, she brings out the best in us.
Just giving of herself and never requiring all fuss.
For all that she has done.
    She is truly number one.

There’s nothing more precious than my mother’s love. She deserves and earns the title, “Mother”.

She’s always put her children first. She gives us time, attention and unconditional love. She talks to us, try to teach and
    listens as well.

My mom continues to encourage me to do my best in life, shows me love, gives me information, direction, inspiration and hope.
She is my confidante, the only one who is honest and loving enough to tell me when I’m right and when I’m wrong.

Mom takes care of all those around her while many times denying herself. I appreciate the sacrifices, recognize the
selflessness, salute the dedication and reassurance that is my mother.

She has confronted life with many obstacles and has never given up the fight. But in mom’s case, her strength has always
come from God. Even when my mother is in pain or having problems, she continues to moves through life’s rocky roads.

She is a truly inspirational mother and grandmother.

THEREFORE, she deserves a pair of diamond earrings. 🙂

My mom has MS, yet she doesn’t let it slow her down. She has more energy than me – she doesn’t like to tell us when she is in pain, and I admire her for that. Of course, sometimes we want to know these things so we can help her, but she is a trooper. She would love to have these, I’m sure!

My mom would love these! She’s always spending her time and money on her children and others and never gets to buy anything luxurious like this for herself (yet she’s never complained)! She’s also been a wonderful daughter to my 98-yr old grandmother for the past few years, by taking care of her full-time.

My mom is what she is. she did the best she could raising my brother and I ( at least I hope she did). I don’t think being a mother was her direction in life, so I’d like to say that I have tried to be the mom that my own was not. I love my daughter and let her know daily. Hugs and kisses are a daily event in my house, something I did not grow up with. I love you rolls off my tongue on a regular basis, something I never heard growing up. I make sure my daughter and husband know how important they are to me. I wish I could have had that growing up, it may have made a difference, but I suppose my struggles made me into who I am today, and today I am happy. I would proudly list my job as Mom.

Mom’s are the life givers, the ouch healers, the motivators & believers. The creators. My mom had a tough choice between making her life at 17, and ours, and always, gladly stepped up to the plate for us on the rocky road. Thanks Mom.

My mother most definitely deserves these. All of her life, she has been a caretaker…first to her husband and children, then to her aged parents, and now to my housebound father. It would be so wonderful to present her with these, it would bring such a ray of sunshine into her difficult life. She is tireless and cheerful, and deserves them.

i want to win these for one of the best moms i have ever known, my daughter, her fiance actually had to leave the day the baby was born, he got to spend one hour with her and their newborn son before he had to leave for 4 months only to come home for a 2 month visit before shipping off to afganistan. she has had to raise her little man alone, struggling with motherhood alone when he was born as this is her first child. ryan has turned out fantastic, he points to pictures of his daddy and says daddy!! he is super smart , and allllllllllll boy, he is 10 months now and into everything , she takes him back and forth to daycare, to grandmas on the weekends she works, takes care of the house and finds tons of time to play with him, i am just so proud of her, i know she is missing her man terrible and cant wait for him to come home, which still about a year , i am amazed how easy she makes it all look, in my eyes there is no one more deserving than my meg

I think she is such a special “mom” because she has worked tirelessly at her job to bring new and innovative ways to teach math to struggling students. She is the head of a program in our state that does just that. I think every school age child in our state owes alot to my mom (the test scores in our state have risen since she began the job!!) On top of all that she’s a wonderful grandmother and a pretty darn fine mom!!!

My mom deserves to win the earrings and much, much more. She had a very difficult childhood, as did most of our moms who grew up during the great depression. She had no bathroom, no phone, no TV, and lived on a diet of beans and potatoes. Despite this, when she married, she and my dad managed to make a nice home and raise me, giving me all the things they never had. To top it off, Mom has suffered from many chronic physical ailments and bi-polar disorder all her life. My dad has passed away, and Mom now lives with my husband and me. She still tries to contribute, and is our unofficial neighborhood watch captain.

My best Mother’s Day was when my grown son & daughter got up early(not easy for young adults) and drove to my home to help their Dad make me breakfast in bed.
They decided to make me steak on the grill and an omelet and Bays English muffins(my faves)(they remembered!!!)
They picked some flowers from the garden to add to the tray and let me sleep till 10, then surprised me. Just to have them there was a treat…add a cat book and a bracelet made by my daughter, well all I can say is it was a most memorable Mother’s Day!

This year is may favorite Mother’s Day! I know it’s not here yet, but I got my gift already. My son is only 3 and since I am not my Hubby’s Mom I don’t usually get anything or even get told Happy Mother’s day. (Hubby usually forgets I like to be told too!) This year my son started talking about doing all kinds of thing for me. I didn’t really pay attention untill Hubby told him he blew it. That’s when I realized they really thought about me this year! Hubby was going to help our son “make” a card for me. Just knowing they thought about me this year made me so warm inside. I don’t know if I will get a card, but I feel like I already got a great gift!!!

    My mom deserves these because

-she hardly ever gets anything for herself but does for everyone else

-she has a kidney disease (one transplant already) and doesn’t really have the money to splurge on things that she does not NEED

-she is amazing and should be shown that with these!

And she never complaints about anything just takes it as it is, no matter what it is. Sometimes I think that I don’t deserve her. I wish she had an easier and better life. I know just like most women, that she would love diamond earrings but does not have them and would never purchase them for herself.
So this would truly be the perfect gift for the perfect person.

My mom has had very few luxuries in her life even though she deserved them more than anyone I know. She never complained about not having fine things and seemed not to miss them at all. I have taken delight though in giving her nice gifts for birthdays and Mother’s Day, as best I could afford, but I have never been able to give her something as nice as these earrings. I would love to be able to.

I’d win these for my wife. My mom is wonderful but she’s also enjoying a very happy retirement with my dad, and wants for very little, we call that living the dream. My wife is the mother to our two kids. A full-time worker with a painfully long commute who still manages to keep the family fed, the house clean and the bills paid. Yes I help, but she is AMAZING. Happy mother’s day to all the moms out there. You are appreciated in ways we can’t express.

She lets her kids make their own decisions/mistakes… not butting in and controlling is something that I haven’t quite learned to do with my own children!. Curious about why she was apologizing, I asked her, “For what?”
She wrapped her arms around me and squeezed tightly. Then she looked up at me and said, “I’m sorry about your mommy.”

It brought tears to my eyes and I just hugged her tightly. If you don’t know me personally, you don’t know that my mom passed away during the summer of 1999, three months before she was conceived.

It was the sweetest Mother’s Day words ever spoken.

My mom is my best friend (and fishing buddy)! She’s a great wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and confidant to ‘all’ that has been blessed wih her ‘loving spirit’! And did I mention that she makes a ‘killer’ blueberry cobbler!

She continues to love my siblings and I unconditionally (which at times, can be quite difficult) and takes great pride in caring for my ‘ailing’ father who was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer.

She only sees ‘the good’ in others and is always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need!

Please, include my Mom and I into your giveaway drawing!

Thanks and ‘Happy Mother’s Day to all!

My Mom is the most unselfish person I know. It’s even hard to get a photo of her because she doesn’t want to be the center of attention. She has little stashes of things she’s saved that she knows my Dad cares about – like football and Kansas State – as well as things for each of her grandchildren. It’s amazing. She definitely deserves something special that she’d never spend for herself.

My mom has a very stressful job as well as helping my sister take care of her 2 kids. She is selfless. They live on a very small salary but there is always plenty of love to go around. She always puts the kids needs in front of her own and rarely does something nice for herself. I would love for her to have a surprise gift that I know she’d love!

My Mom deserves some diamonds–she’s earned them. The day after my mother gave birth to her second child, her husband left her, at 27 her mother died of a brain aneurysm leaving her to raise her young siblings along with her own children. My mother went on to have two more children, while working full time most of her life. She owned a dress shop, was a nighttime bookkeeper, Activities Director for the YMCA, and a Reserve Police Officer, but most of all she was a loving wife and mother. My mother is now a full time caregiver to my father who has Alzheimer’s.

My mom completely deserves these earrings because she was a fantastic stay-at-home mom for eighteen years, and then returned to teaching after I went away to college. Now she is retiring after that re-entry to the workforce of teaching, and these earrings would be so delightful to give to her as a symbol of my gratitude for all that she’s done!

My mom is so dear to me. She’s still there for me, even though I’m a mother myself now! She loves me unconditionally, and has passed that love to me, because I feel the same about my daughter.

My mom has always been such a hard worker. She grew up on a farm and worked just as hard as the men in the family. She has always believed in “paying her own way” and this would be just a small way to give her a reward for her efforts.

My favorite mother’s day was this year. My kids all came over with the grandkids,My twin sister brought my mom down and we all enjoyed a nice dinner I cooked. My mom is 84 so this is very special because she’s able to be with us. My daughter and hubbie bought me a nice card and a fan I requested that I needed. My twin sis brought me alot of goodies also and we all had a GREAT TIME.

My Mom is my best friend. She loves me even when I don’t deserve it. She talks to me every day on the phone. She helps me with my baby any time I need her. She is the matriarch of our family. She holds us all together and bridges the gap between generations. She is my Mom and my hero. I hope she wins these lovely earrings!

My mom deserves these earrings because she took care of me for 5 years when I was bedridden, even stopped working to do so. It’s because of her devotion and care and support that I’ll be starting medical school this fall so I can help other children with similar health issues. I’d love to be able to give her these as a belated Mother’s day present.
