Just a little over a week ago, my daughter and I were in Louisville Kentucky visiting KFC. Somehow I got it in my head that she was going to get to cook and then finding out that she wasn’t going to be able to we had a bit of disappointment, but it seemed to dissipate very quickly as she was given a chef hat.
While we were at the KFC headquarters we had a tour of their building and of their little history museum. We had a blast and and we were very well fed. I grew up on KFC and love their chicken. I love their chicken, mashed potatoes, biscuits, gravy, corn, mmmmm. When they created their gravy bowls our family decided to eat there all the time, well, not all the time, but we do eat there more than I’d like to admit. The Potato bowls or the popcorn chicken aren’t meant to be meals for kids. They are high in calories, it’s just what my husband and I like to get so we usually share as a family. These Li’l Bucket Kids meals and all the different options they present actually make me want to go there even more. My daughter and I went to get fast food just today and she chose Mc. Donald’s, but as we were driving by KFC she said, we should have gone there mom. I like their food.

Zoe was allowed to share her opinions after the taste test and I encouraged her to be honest. She wasn’t impressed with the toy, even though she took the time to actually finish the puzzle and think about all of it. I think she also has to be in the right mood to eat chicken and she wasn’t that day. Since we were in a three hour time difference she didn’t even realize that it was lunch time. And hour or too later she wanted to know where lunch was, and I had to tell her that was her lunch. She wished she had that her Li’l Bucket Kids Meal.
KFC believes meals are an important time for families to spend together. Through strategic partnerships with kid-friendly brands throughout 2013, KFC’s iconic bucket will house activities designed specifically for KFC’s Li’ttlest guests. KFC launches the kid-sized bucket with activities like word puzzles and riddles that promote interactive play among parents and children from GoGo squeeZ, the 100% fruit, all natural, no-spoon, no-mess way to enjoy fruit on-the-go.
"This is the ‘thinking mom’s’ kids meal – one that is equal parts balanced options and interactive fun for their kids," said Marker. "Through our partnership with GoGo squeeZ, kids will find a fun secret under each Li’l Bucket lid – an activity to enjoy with the whole family. We thought we’d give them some food for thought on the Bucket in addition to the tasty meal inside."
In addition to good taste, KFC offers buckets full of good deeds and good fun to celebrate the availability of Li’l Bucket Kids Meals this spring with the Li’l Playground Makeover Facebook Contest and the KFC Ultimate Playground Experience Contest.
I have a feeling that we’ll be going to KFC again really soon.
