Statistics show that an average of 9 out of 10 kids lack enough fiber in their diets? Which explains why every where you look food says “now with fiber”. I had no idea it was that high, probably means I’m not getting enough fiber too. Kellogg’s knows how tough of a time we have finding ways to increase our child’s intake of anything healthy, and they came up with a great solution by adding a boost of fiber to some of their most popular kids’ cereals.
Yes, Kellogg’s did send me cereal to try, but we did purchase some just a week before the review was sent to us. I bought a huge box that we are still working on and we are enjoying them. My husband eats them for breakfast on Saturdays with the kids. We feel that eating meals together as a family is very important.
There are no changed other than the addition of Fiber. I check calories, sugar, vitamins, the cereal is still fortified with all of the nutrition you are looking for when caring for your family. They just added fiber and that is needed for healthy digestion.
I do want to say that my husband enjoys them. Which is funny because I was expecting him to say these are disgusting and taste like cardboard. Because that is exactly what he thinks of Kellogg’s Fiber Pop Tarts. Kellogg’s you need to work on your pop tarts recipe with fiber.

"I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Kellogg’s and received boxes of Froot Loops and Apple Jacks and a gift certificate to thank me for taking the time to participate."
Interesting VLog, I don’t know if I would have ever thought about trying the new Kellogg’s kids cereals with fiber. I may have to taste them myself! Cute kiddos, btw. 🙂
fruit loops are always good
Oh My, your kids are cute, Louise.
Breakfast isn’t called the most important meal of the day for no reason, fiber can be a bad thing though if you have to much, that’s why more guidance needs to be made and manufacturers of say cereals need to do what is right and make them more healthy. It isn’t hard to get the amount we need, loads of food has it like bread and some rices.
I am glad that the cereal manufacturers are taking another look at how they are producing children’s cereals. I really would like for them to look at children’s nutritional needs and make a cereal that meets them …one that tastes good and does not have a lot of sugar added.
Kelloggs did a blog campaign of great reviews of its cereal. Blog after blog of the “Mom tour” where Moms got two boxes of the “fiber pellets” for free. No one gave me any boxes, I just bought them and got the horrible tasting “Fiber Pellets” for the first time. The first mouthful brought the sudden realization that someone had replaced my favorite cereal with Fruit flavored press board pellets. I’ve been buying these for years!! I’m 45. I love them as much as Mac n Cheese and all the other comfort foods I enjoyed through college. You can eat Fruit Loops dry and enjoy them but this??!!! This is dreadful!! If I want fiber, I’ll get it elsewhere. The new FIBER Fruit Loops are a disappointment. Kelloggs can fill the internet with its happy Mom blogs but one taste will tell you….consumers won’t be fooled.
i am glad they have fiber but i am even more excited about the fact that kelloggs has lowered the sugar on so many cereals!
Watching those beautiful children put that cereal in their mouth was awful. Of course they will like it. The # 1 ingredient in Fruit Loops is sugar! The red, yellow and blue coloring is something No kids need and adding a very small amount of fibre doesn’t make it a good choice for growing children.
Please don’t give in to the advertisers and manufacturers telling us we are doing a good thing for our family if we eat their product. Look at the childhood obesity levels which have soared in the last 30 years. Make good, educated decisions about food.It takes a while but kids learn to like real food once all that sugar gets out of their system.
Well said Alice! Kelloggs is mistaken if they think of Froot Loops as a cereal for children only. They are neglecting the 20-50 somethings that grew up loving this cereal. Like you I noticed a huge difference in the first bite. I’m insulted by their claims of ’same great taste’. At least we still have Fruity Pebbles (which is a better cereal anyway, IMHO).
