Keeping Veggies Fresh Longer Rubbermaid FreshWork #FreshWorksFreshness #ad Giveaway

April 30, 2017 by Momstart 55 Comments

This is a sponsored post for SheSpeaks/Rubbermaid.

We received a set of Rubbermaid FreshWork containers to test out and they came just in time for our needs. We have been having a terrible time keeping Spinach and other veggies fresh. I feel like as soon as I open a bag of Spinach it goes bad and I’m picky with my veggie freshness.

How to keep produce freshWith FreshWorks Produce Saver, you can simply move produce from store packaging and into the FreshWorks containers before refrigerating to maintain freshness for up to 80% longer. The lid filter lasts a lifetime with no replacements needed. It’s like these are the last plastic containers you’ll need!

image

For best results using the Rubbermaid Freshworks containers all you need to do is take your veggies out of the original container and transfer them to the Rubbermaid Freshworks containers. FreshWorks extends the life of your produce, so you can eat your produce before it goes to waste. This will save us a lot of money. I have no idea how much produce we’ve lost due to it going bad in it’s container from the grocery store.

image

I purchased a bag of lettuce and a large container of spinach. After using what we needed for our taco salads, I moved the remaining produce to the Rubbermaid Freshworks Produce Saver containers.

image

FreshWorks is a food storage container that uses patented FreshVentTM technology to keep produce fresher up to 80%* longer than traditional produce packaging. FreshVent regulates the flow of oxygen and carbon dioxide to create the optimal environment so produce stays nearly as fresh as the day it was picked, while the CrispTrayTM helps reduce moisture and spoilage. Not only do they keep your fruits and veggies fresh up to 80% longer but they stack very nicely in the fridge. I always feel like those grocery store packages just don’t stack, don’t keep fresh and take up too much room.

The Rubbermaid Freshworks conatiners come in three sizes to hold all types of produce:

  • Small (2.5 Cups): Ideal for small berries.
  • Medium (6.3 Cups): Perfect for strawberries.
  • Large (17.3 Cups): Optimal for leafy greens.

I was able to use the medium container for our leftover lettuce, and the large one is holding all our spinach leaves.

image

We have such a hard time keeping the spinach and lettuce fresh but it’s cheaper to buy the big organic package than it is to buy the smaller packages that we can actually eat in a reasonable amount of time. so I love these containers.

image

The Rubbermaid FreshWorks Produce Savers are microwave safe, and dishwasher safe on the top shelf, and they are BPA free.

image

I’m excited to see just how long all the produce will last in these containers and I can’t wait to save money all year long as I keep using them over and over again.

I actually have these and they work great. I use them mainly for leafy greens. Condensation does build up on the lid, but it’s easy to tap it off and my veggies last longer.
