J. Jill has been a long time collection that I covet in the mall every time I walk by there store. They recently contacted me and asked if I would be an influencer for them. I was in shock, seriously, a clothing line wanted me to work with them. Which means yes I’m receiving samples in exchange for this post. I’m getting a pair of J. Jill Jeans of my choice and a pair to give to anyone of my friends. My True Blue Friend. It’s a hard choice because I have a lot of true blue friends.
The True Blue friend that I am going to share this amazing blessing with, has been there for me through quite a bit, she’s there even when I thought someone else was my best friend. She was there to hug me and say that it wasn’t my fault I lost that other friend. I don’t seem to have a photo of her and I together which might be confusing to most of you, but it’s because we spend all our time just having a good time together. We exercise together, cry together, and laugh together.
J. Jill is running a True Blue Facebook contest. It’s all about encouraging people to post photo of yourself and a friend to J.Jill’s Facebook timeline and tag it with hashtag #jjilltrueblue, or upload a photo of yourself and a friend to instagram with hashtag #jjilltrueblue and tag J.Jill’s instagram (@JJillstyle). Then they will select one person each day to receive a gift card for a pair of jeans for themselves and a friend and a grand prize winner will receive a two $250 gift cards – one for themselves and a friend. Jeans here you come!
About the J. Jill Jean Styles:
J.Jill’s denim is inspired by artisan patterns in the color blue — toile prints, indigo tiles, pen and ink sketches–and was designed into indigo and softer shades of blue (e.g., Atlantic and Periwinkle) for a fresh perspective for you. You’ll also find a variation of mixed motifs, deep denim washes and lighthearted intarsias throughout the new denim collection. Then you will find four different fits.
- Authentic Fit Slim Boot-Cut Jeans — These create a lean silhouette. These jeans have a slimmer, slightly flared leg opening creating a flattering, balanced fit for both shoes and boots, and the higher rise is perfect to tuck in shirts and maintain a smooth silhouette –.Jill recommends a brightly colored button up with cami underneath. If you’d prefer a longer top to create a long, lean line – try an A-line shape cardigan that mirrors the flare of the jeans.
- Slim Boyfriend – This type of denim is like your favorite boyfriend jean but now more straight and streamlined for a more feminine fit. Straight fit through hips and thighs for a silhouette that flatters every body. J.Jill’s tip – play with both proportions and volume with the slim boyfriend, both slim and fuller-volume tops work well. A streamlined top has a slimming effect (especially in black!) over the straight shape of the slim boyfriend jeans, whereas fuller tops create a visual balance with the straight bottom.
- Tried & True Slim Ankle – These were inspired by the classic and timeless ankle silhouette, and conform beautifully to a woman’s shape with the ankle-length seam falling in just the right place. Pair with a longer length top with either a little or a lot of volume — either works! Try tunic for a slim, lengthening effect, or a more voluminous sweater over a stretch cotton tee for a flattering layered take.
- Tried & True Slim Leg – These jeans are super flattering thanks to J.Jill’s cotton-stretch fabric for a great fit, recovery and comfort. The dark color elevates the look, and the slim leg looks great with heels, flats or tucked into boots. These jeans are a perfect complement to tops with an A-line shape or hem interest. Pairing them with an anorak would make for a classic look with balanced proportions, or try a high-low hem to create interest on top while slimming and elongating the bottom.

My true blue friend has been amazing to me. My husband and I have been through the ringer this past month, and I decided it was best we split up. She has been there for me like no one else. The first night the kids spent with their father, she was here at my house with a bottle of wine and a delicious meal she cooked in a slow cooker. She’s a pretty amazing friend.

My true blue friend is a coworker. We always have a good time together, make each laugh, help and support each other. One day I left my purse at work (I live 45 minutes away), she lives about 20 minutes away and she went back to work after hours, to get my purse. I am very thankful that she would even volunteer to ask to go get it, but to actually go back and get it.
My true blue friend and I met in high school and have made each other laugh in good & bad times.
My true blue friend is someone I can share anything with. She’s one of few people who “gets” me and we always try to celebrate the good in each other’s lives.
My true blue friend is my sister, she is always there for me no matter what – and we have been through a lot together.
My true blue friend has been in my life for over 22 years. we have been through divorces, new loves, grandchildren, death, tears and joy. She has recently moved way across the country but we still see each other twice a year.
My best friend and I have been BFFs for almost thirty years now. (Wow, seems so weird to say that!) Since we were teenagers we have bought the same things separately–swimsuits, dishes, hats, kitchen gadgets, etc. Even as adults we share the same taste in nearly everything! (Except men, fortunately!)
I met my true blue friend in college, we helped each other through some classes that we took together. It’s been 10+ years and we have stayed close over the years and see each other several times a year.
I have a true blue friend in my mom – I can call her with any problem and she will help me work it out – plus she loves jjill!!
My true blue friend is my amazing mom. We have been through so much together. My husband was deployed to Afghanistan 3 and a half years ago & i flew home to be with her while he was gone because she is my rock and i knew she could help get me through it. about 2 months into the deployment she was was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer. And while it was so hard being away from my husband while he was deployed it afforded me the chance to be home with my mom when she needed me most. It was a blessing because I was able to be her rock during her toughest battle. And nothing makes me happier then being able to say I just went with her this past week to the drs and we celebrated her 3 year anniversary cancer free!!
When the going got tough, the “friends” get weeded out pretty darn quickly and the real colors show! Those that remained are my TRUE BLUE friends. The biggest supporter of which has been my Mom (BARB) without her I am not sure I would have gotten through some really tough times!
My true blue friend has been there since Kindergarten. Although she now lives is NJ, we still talk and see each other as much as possible when she is home to visit. We’ve been friends, teammates, teachers and most importantly….just there for each others for any and everything. Love her to pieces.
A good friend is like a favorite pair of jeans – they fit so comfy you don’t have to try hard at all to be yourself.
My TRUE BLUE friend is Heidi; she told me about your blog and she is a great supporter when I have questions about my son’s special diet and medical issues. #jjilltrueblue
I have a friend that I can share anything with, and she is a huge support! Those true blue friends are rare, and Im glad to have her!
My true blue friend – is my gal who checks in with me all the time. She knows I have a ton stress from 4 kids at home, including an incredibly difficult 8 year old, managing home life with my husband busy in the mist of tax season and a lot of pressure carrying a full time job. She knows I have a lot of people demanding my time and attention so she makes sure she is always encouraging me and making sure I take some “me” time and “friend” time too. I don’t know what I’d do without her at this stage in my life.
My true blue friend is my sister. We’ve helped each other with the loss of our parents, financial hardships, job losses…pretty much anything life throws you into a loop over. We could use some new jeans….the old ones seem to keep getting “smaller”. 🙂
My true blue friend and I met in college. We have been there for each other since then. Marriage and kids are our favorite topics.
My true blue friend lives on the other side of the world and we are still able to share a soul sister connection. She is a blessing and it’s a privilege to be a part of her life.
