Jai’s birthday is next month, and if I were to pick out a perfect gift, one of the Intel All in Ones would certainly top the list. This slick line of devices packs the power of a PC into a portable, tablet-sized screen with wireless keyboard and mouse. I received an All-in-One device in the mail early last week – a Lenovo Horizon 2s – and since I was going to be gone for the entire week on a press trip, I asked Jai if he’d like to set up the All-in-One and use it while I was gone. Poor thing, what ever would he do all week with me gone and a brand new computer to play with? đ
When I got back home on Sunday, Jai was excited to show me what he’d been doing with the All-in-One. I’ll let him tell you about it himself:
Using the Lenovo Horizon 2s “Table PC” these past several days has been a lot of fun. The name “Table PC” is very apt since simply calling it a “Tablet” doesn’t do its sheer size justice, and it is every bit a PC.
The device itself is gorgeous, being quite a bit less than 1 inch thick while having a 19.5-inch, 1920 x 1080 screen. The internal speakers are loud, clear and vibrant and video playback perfectly smooth. It doesn’t come with the optional charging stand but it does have a built-in extendable stand. Four rubber feet let you comfortably lay it flat on a table top, but once you prop the Horizon 2s up and use it with the included wireless mouse and keyboard you can quickly forget that you’re not using a standard PC. The mouse does not have a standard mechanical roller as a middle button. At first I was disappointed but quickly realized that this middle button is a touch pad in itself. You can still use this as the mouse roller as well as swipe side to side to invoke gestures that windows 8 recognizes.
So far I have a great impression of the Horizon 2s and have some big plans for it in the coming weeks that I’ll be writing about.”
Now that I’m home, I’m excited to use the All-in-One myself – if I can pry it away from Jai! đ Stay tuned for more updates next week!

Do you ever give tech items as a gift? What do you think of these All-in-Ones?
I actually had an HP AIO and LOVED it. Unfortunately, it went kapoot, and I miss it so much. I like the all in ones and prefer a desktop. I would love to get another when we can afford it.
