I’ve recently been introduced to a new system of banking, a financial management system by American Express and Walmart, Bluebird! And I’m excited to announce that I’m a Bluebird blogger. As a Bluebird blogger I’m going to share with you my experience using the checking and debit system and how it will organize us as we spend our money. Bluebird has been developed for the tens of millions of Americans like me who are looking for advanced capabilities such as deposits by smartphone and mobile bill pay, fee transparency, and no minimum balance, monthly, annual or overdraft fees. Banking is getting expensive and we’re tired of paying fees. I know plenty of banks that charge fees now, fees to see the teller, fees for not having a certain balance, and fees on top of fees. It’s getting a little ridiculous if you ask me.
I’m looking forward to a few things myself:
We’ll be able to set up sub accounts for each type of expense we have or if Miles and Zoe were older we could give them their allowance on a sub account.
Bluebird offers Members the ability to easily create, manage and specify subaccounts for their friends, family members or colleagues. Members can set up to four subaccounts. Subaccounts are linked to the master Bluebird account and allow the user to set spending limits, set up text/email alerts, and enable/disable key features like ATM access.
We’ll be able to deposit money with our mobile phones.
Once Members register and receive their personalized Bluebird card, funds can be loaded online through a bank account such as a savings or checking account, debit cards, direct deposit, remote check capture via the mobile app and cash loading at Walmart registers.
We’ll receive member benefits.
Members have access to benefits (subject to terms and conditions), including:
– Purchase Protection1 which can provide coverage against accidental damage or theft of eligible items for 90 days from date of purchase, up to $1,000 per occurrence, up to $50,000 per Cardmember account per calendar year.
– Roadside Assistance2 which may arrange for the following services: towing, winching, jump starts, flat tire change when spare is available, lockout service when key is in vehicle and delivery of up to 2 gallons of fuel.
– Global Assist® Services3 provide pre-trip planning assistance as well as emergency assistance when the Cardmember is traveling more than 100 miles from home.
– Exceptional 24-7 customer service Members have come to expect from American Express.
These of course are just a few of the features you can receive from Bluebird. Be sure to keep up with me as I share what I learn and how I like the service.
How TO Become A Member
The first thing on the list was to sign up and create an account at Bluebird.com. You can do everything on-line or you can go into Walmart and buy a Bluebird card then register the account on-line. It was an easy process, I joined on-line and am awaiting my card. Then I’m going to start using my new account.
I am posting on behalf of BlueBird sharing my experience as part of a paid campaign. All opinions are my own.
