Just a reminder, I’m attending a Disney Press Junket for the red carpet premier of Gnomeo and Juliet with Elton John and 14 other bloggers.
We have three days of events and the dress code is
Friday, 1/21 – Casual attire.
Saturday, 1/22 – “Nice” casual attire.
Sunday, 1/23 – “Nice” attire (the actual red carpet event which is an afternoon premier so we were told to leave the ball gowns at home, but since I never get to dress up I’m tempted to wear one anyways)
And I need your help still! I have no idea about Fashion, so Fashion for a fancy press event I’m completely lost.
I can’t thank you all enough for helping me to choose a pair of shoes. So with the dress from Karen Millen you all said heels or boots with a heal. So How about these boots?
Now, my neighbors and friends all offered me a look into their closets. I put on a fashion show for my husband last night and he took photos of me in all of the dresses, and out of 10 dresses this is what I have narrowed it down to.
First Dress Option: David Warren New York Dress
Second Dress Option: Mossimo The Belt added to this dress and the next dress is a 5.00 belt from Walmart.
Final Dress Option: Gap
I’m really having a hard time choosing from the last two options. Can you guys help me. I have no idea what to wear, still!!
I say the first dress option, looks much better 😀
Oh no! Dont tell me you’re wearing a dress on Saturday too! I just know I’m going to stand out for all the wrong reasons! Y’all are all going to look so great.
But I like the last dress the best if you’re going to wear a dress on Saturday.
Crystal,
I love wearing dresses and just don’t wear them when I’m in mommy mode, so I see this trip as a weekend to just have fun and dress up. I’m super excited to see you, and I think most everyone else will be wearing Jeans. I wouldn’t be surprised if even the stars were in jeans.
1, 2, 4
Thank you Suzanne,
I like number 1 too, since it is my dress!
I always say black 🙂 but you’ve got a black dress already picked! So go blue!!!
The Blue one seems like fun, I need to iron it, but it’s cute with the belt.
The black dress looks great, I also like the blue dress very cute:)
Thank you Nichol, I’m having issues deciding between those two particularlly.
I like #1: David Warren. It also looks to be a more forgiving material as in No Wrinkles.
I like the boots with the heels 🙂 Very cute with that first dress.
For the other option, I like the David Warren dress and the Gap dress best. The David Warren one might look a touch dressier, but the Gap one has a nice neckline (makes you look taller; as someone who is barely 5’2″, that’s something I’m always thinking about :P) and is a little more flirty with the ruffle. The Mossimo dress is cute, but it cuts you into too many pieces (blue dress, then black belt, then blue dress, then skin, then black boots). Makes you look shorter and doesn’t have the same flow 🙂
To throw another question into the mix for you – have you thought about jewelry yet? :O
Def. GO with the Blue dress and the belt. But the outfit would look MUCH better with strappy sandals instead of boots.
If you go with the boots, you’ll really need to amp up the accessories. A long silvery necklance (LOONNNGG, almost to the belt) and some bracelets.
Wearing your hair up/back in a low pony will show off the neckline really nicely.
Make sure you carry a VERY SMALL BLACK purse. I know it seems like a pain to bring another bag, but a everyday one just won’t look right even if it is the afternoon.
of the last two i like the black on best.
I like the last option best. The neckline, the waist and the length all really accentuate your beautiful figure.
I love dress #2, very classy and elegant! #4 is good, too…and definitely the shoes! Have FUN!
Dress #2 for sure.
i like the mossimo dress!
Thank you Courtney! I do too because I love wearing color!
Ok here are my comments, I hope they help.
Photo1- Boot need a higher heel to wear with a short dress. These boots should only be reserved for pants and long skirts. Pair that dress with a pop of color heel. Closed toe preferably, something like this: http://www.dsw.com/shoe/tahari+carmela+pump?prodId=210042&category=cat20006 or http://www.dsw.com/shoe/me+too+fiona+pump?prodId=208967&category=cat20006 (in a different color)
Add dangly earrings, med. sized bangles and a clutch for your Sat
Photo 2-Perfect, put your hair up in a loose bun and add a gold or paten leather clutch for another Sat option. Keep jewelry minimal. Studs and some thin gold bangles.
photo 3- Not sold on the belt, try two thin patent leather black belts. Trade these boots for some booties (for a more trendy look-http://www.dsw.com/shoe/madden+girl+krizta+bootie?prodId=206714&category=cat20006) or flats for your causal Fri.
Photo 4- meh, it could work. If you do decide on this one, wear it friday and add colorful accents.
None of these work for your formal red carpet event- I would do a full length ball gown paired with a simple t-shirt (So you are not too dressy), simple pumps. Or find a tea length dress or skirt (hits mid calf). Always take note of camera flashes and wear black undergarments, no matter the top or pant color.
Hope that helps!

I love the first dress! Of the last two I prefer the Gap dress. You can never wear too much black.
Thank you Josefine,
Black is a very safe color and it does make me look skinny!
Louise- just to complicate things further… I have that blue dress in chocolate brown as well, and it’s clean now. I think that brown & black go well together as neutrals. I also have a few long necklaces if you’re interested.
I vote for #1 or #4. #1 is really flattering, and looks great with the boots and maybe a pair of larger earrings.
I love your dresses Christine! I love the blue one because it’s a COLOR. I love the black one, once I added the belt. 😉 Of course, I never would have thought of adding a belt if you hadn’t mentioned it.
And I know nothing about jewelry! 😉
Thank you for the loan!
I still love your own dress the best. But from the other three, the last black one is amazing on you.
Thank you Orshi!
I love yours too because it has an elegance to it that none of the other dresses have. This is such a hard decision, but it’s fun getting everyone’s advice too! Thank you for the loan!
The blue dress is gorgeous on you! I think you should most definitely go with that outfit.
I love the last one, but that color blue looks great on yyou! Whatever you decide you’ll looks great! Have fun 🙂
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the last option!
4— totally
My vote is for:
First Dress Option: David Warren New York Dress
I like Option number 2..I always liked blue 🙂
I like the last dress the best!
I like your gray dress, but for something a little more formal, I really like how the First Dress Option: David Warren New York Dress, looks on you. It looks really tied together and classic.
The First Dress Option David Warren New York Dress looks awesome on you.
Between the last two, I’d say the last one. The black one, but do you have another belt size option with it? I think a silver or golden belt, less wide would look more class act, especially if you had earrings in the same hue of silver or gold.
I like #2 best, followed by #4.
What would #1 look like with shoes instead of boots? I always think of shoes as more dressy than boots.
I like the last dress best but I think any one of them would work well for the event.
I say go with the last dress, but maybe with a different belt?
LOVING the black dress (the final option at the bottom) the very best. And, it looks GREAT on you, you haute mama!! Have fun!!

Really like the first dress. Classic with a twist. I’d go with a great looking heel though. A group of bracelets and a great earring. Done. Have a fabulous time!
the last one is my favorite!
I think the second dress option in the blue/purplish color looks great on you. The color will help you stand out among the sea of black outfits! It’s a lovely dress that is both playful and put-together looking.
