A few years back, I attended a really fun 1980’s-themed bridal shower for my sister-in-law Jaime. I love themed parties, so in addition to the totally radical costume I was wearing, I had the inspiration to wrap her present to looks like a Rubik’s Cube for a most bodacious prop! Here’s how I did it:

After I had placed her gift in a box, I took an extra-large, heavy duty trashbag, cutting and folding it down to fit and securing with packing tape.

Next, I took sheets of paper and cut them evenly with a paper trimmer to create squares. I then took felt-tipped markers and colored the squares in. You could do this much more easily by simply using different colors of construction paper, but I just used what I had on hand at the time.

To create the Rubik’s Cube, I carefully lined up the squares on top of the box, and secured them all in place with packing tape. I repeated this on each side until it was complete!

This was a most non-heinous way to wrap a gift, and went perfectly with my costume!

Tubular, dudes!
