This past weekend I took my children to see the movie Hotel Transylvania. Hotel Transylvania is the hotel where monsters are afraid of humans and I would be to if I was a monster. Count Dracula (Adam Sandler) had a daughter 118 years ago and on that day tragedy happened and he vowed to keep his daughter safe forever so he built the safest hotel for monsters ever, Hotel Transylvania.
Monsters come from far and wide to vacation here and they feel it’s the safest place. On Mavis’ (Selena Gomez) 118th birthday all the monsters came out to celebrate her birthday. And one human made it into the mix. Dracula found him and in an attempt to hide him he ended up having to turn him into a monster by putting him in costume. No way could his reputation be tarnished. So he ended up lying to one person after another and it just got funnier and funnier. The storyline was predictable as the human fell in love with Mavis and vice versa but it was still really cute to watch. And, I think Adam Sandler is hilarious as Dracula. I want to suck your blood Bleh Bleh Blah.
The animation is brilliant, the movie was funny and had my attention the whole time. The kids laughed and I had to remember to remind Miles it’s not scary because it’s not real. He ended up saying that he thought the movie was very funny. For the rest of the weekend, it was Bleh Bleh Bleh. I found it to be such an endearing movie about family and how far you will go to keep your child safe and learning the lesson of letting them fly, truly fly on their own.
Hotel Transylvania opened in theaters this past weekend and made quite a bit of money, because it’s a perfect family movie.Be sure to keep up with the monsters of Hotel Transylvania on Facebook or join the “Bleh, bleh bleh” on Twitter @HotelT.
