We, my children and I just had the most amazing experience. We were invited to Miami by Sony and attended a screening of Hotel Transylvania 2, had a character breakfast and interviewed Selena Gomez. It was one of my favorite celebrity interviews ever because my kids were there and they asked the questions. I was even more proud because my daughter actually wrote down four questions and asked three of her four questions during the interview. Selena fell in love with her instantly. (in all honesty I think she was in love with a room full of children). She even said during the interview that she misses working with “the littles”. I’m not sure what my opinion was of her before hand other than I knew she used to be on the Disney channel and her songs on the radio were catchy, but after this interview I fell in love!
Both my kids turned into mini me’s:
Here are a few of the questions from the interview:
My daughter asked “When did you start acting?”
I was 7 years old. My mom did a lot of theater and I just loved watching. My mom is my hero, I admired her she’s just incredible..I asked if I could do it and I did it.
How long did it take to voice Mavis in Hotel Transylvania?
The first one was a little harder because we were figuring out what made Mavis Mavis. The second one, collectively a week.
Do you like acting or singing more?
This is such a hard question. I really love both that’s the thing. I think once I become older marriage status which we won’t talk about that right now… than I will lean toward acting a little more.
She also asked “Was it fun shooting the movie?”
Yeah it was a lot of fun! I am the only girl in the movie so it was kind of lonely have having some of the woman. Adam Sandler and Adam Sandberg are so fun to be around they crack me up.
…….someone asked about themes in the movie…
I honestly loved that we focused on…accepting people’s differences. I thought it was extremely important that no matter where you come from you are accepted.
One of the boy’s asked “Do you know how to do the Whip Nae Nae?”
She said you know it better than me..…..and she asked him to do it and then she did a little bit of it. Everyone laughed.
So how was it revisiting this role now since she is grown up and married?
This was such a fun project for me to be a part of. Working with the Disney channel for so long, a part of me didn’t want to leave that. I love working with the littles but I’m growing up and changing so this was great.
What is your favorite scene?
The scene with Dennis and how he was standing on all the stuit cases and Mavis tells him that he is perfect the way he is.
You have awesome friends. What quality in friends do you look for?
I like friends who are REAL. ,, I like having people who are honest with me and will tell me the truth. I want friends that make me a better person. It’s important to be aware of who you are hanging out with.
Were you afraid of monsters and who is your favorite monster?
I am partial to Dracula, but I really liked the mummy…….I love the movie The Mummy……I was more afraid of dolls and the movie Chucky.
My son asked if she liked watching the kid Dennis working?
She said yes and that he reminded her of Dennis with his soft little voice.
She was asked what she was afraid of and at first she said losing her parents then she looked at the room and said, that’s too deep. I’m afraid of spiders. I loved that during the entire interview she remembered who her audience was and spoke from her hear to the kids. Because my kids are into acting I really wanted to know her advice for young children that want to become actors. She said that it’s all about your goal. You can’t go into this wanting to be famous you have to go into it having fun and enjoying what you are doing. She was also asked if she learned anything about being a mom from the movie and she said yeah, she’s not ready to be one. LOL!
To see the entire interview please watch my friend Enza’s video: She uploaded it for you all to view and so that I could hear the video. I lost my video which was very very sad!
Hotel Transylvania is in theaters September 25th! GO see it it’s really cute!
