I became a homeowner at 19 when my mom passed away unexpectedly, so I was well and truly thrown into the deep end of navigating home maintenance. There is so much to learn and figure out when it comes to owning a home, and since my property includes a septic tank, I soon became well acquainted with Roto-Rooter.
In addition to being the #1 plumbing and drain service company, Roto-Rooter also has a fantastic line of drain and septic care products that you can pick up at the store to tackle day to day issues. Within a few months of becoming a homeowner, I came to learn all about Roto-Rooter when the bathtub started backing up sewage due to a hidden issue with the septic tank!

Once I had my crash course in plumbing care, I knew what I could do to prevent future problems. One easy fix for day to day plumbing annoyances is Roto-Rooter Gel Clog Remover. Because of the way my bathroom sink is designed, it needs regular maintenance or the water will start to drain very slowly, which is super annoying. The sink is wide and deep, so it will hold a lot of water which can end up standing there for a while if the pipe needs to be cleaned out. Yuck!!

My sink after using Roto-Rooter Gel Clog Remover
I am loving the Gel Clog Remover because it is so fast acting and effective! Unlike some clog removers I’ve used in the past, which can require you to leave them for half an hour or even overnight, this clog remover works in ten minutes. No hassle or having to remember not to use the sink for ages! We poured half the bottle down the bathroom sink and the other half down the bathtub drain, since that area is also prone to clogging. In just ten minutes, I could immediately see the water moving faster and my sink draining the way it’s supposed to!
When I was 19, I would buy whatever drain product I found at the dollar store because I had no idea what to use – but now that I’m older and a little wiser, I know that the quality of what you’re buying really makes a difference. Roto-Rooter Gel Clog Remover is not only fast acting and super effective, but it’s also guaranteed to work or it’s free!
Through the rest of this year, I’m going to be sharing great maintenance tips from Roto-Rooter along with some of my personal plumbing anecdotes – and trust me, I have some doozies – so watch this space!
How do you tackle drain clogs?
My husband has a kinetic water ram that he uses when we get clogs. It basically forces the water and clog through the pipes using air pressure.
I have had some drain trouble before and Roto Rooter cleared it right up. Now I keep it around just in case.
I need this in my house now. Our shower clogs regularly. And I don’t now how, we all have short hair!

I am a part of the roto-rooter program this year, and have used this brand for MANY years. I highly recommend others use it too, great post!
My girls have a nasty habit of clogging their bathroom sink. I bet this would really help keep it cleared out!
We need to unclog the drain in our shower right now. This would certainly do the trick!
With so many people in our house this would be PERFECT. We deal with clogs on a semi-daily basis and it can get so hard to get the clogs out fully. This sounds great.
Maintaining home could never been this easy without great home products! Thanks for the share, I’m going to try this product.
Never heard of this product but sounds a great one! Clogged and messy sink is really horrible, thanks for this product- we can finally unclogged it.
Roto-rooter is a good brand name.
It has been around a long time.
With a house full of girls, it’s a must to have some on hand. The clogs in the shower are no joke!
I didn’t know you could buy Roto Rooter products over the counter. We have such a problem with the bathroom sink. I need to give this a try and see if it can clear it up.
Sorry to hear about the passing of your parent. I think we need to get some of this to use in my shower.
It’s always nice to hear about products that are safe for septic tanks and work quickly. I can’t wait to try it out. Usually the first thing I do if there is a clog is take the heavy-duty plunger and see if I can pull anything out of the drain. Yesterday I pulled up one of those white plastic toothpicks which had lodged sideways and was gathering hair. I’ve reminded the family that the strainer needs to stay in the drain so things don’t wash down. Thanks for the excellent information.
This sounds like a great product to try. I have been having issues with my kitchen drain.
I’ve seen this product too and I believe it will serve me very well in unclogging my pipes back home. The formula for this one feels intense in a great way!
I need to get my hands on this stuff. There are a few areas in my home I can use this in.
