I love finding new recipes. When I was a kid, this would come in the form of my mom’s cookbooks or a recipe clipped from the newspaper. Now that technology has given us brand new ways of sharing information, we can use our computers and smartphones to look up any recipe we can think of. That’s why I enjoyed having the chance to get a sneak peek at Hoorray, a new cooking app and community.
Hoorray is an app for iOS and Android that also has a companion website, and allows users to connect with each other and share what they’re whipping up in the kitchen. You can add your own recipes to the app, follow your friends and other cool cooks, and browse their tasty dish ideas. When you find a recipe you want to look at, you can easily swipe left across the screen to view the ingredients and steps.
You can save recipes to your own virtual collections, and when you start preparing a recipe you find, you can click “Start Cookin'” and share what you’re making on your timeline. You can also search for recipes by keyword, so I’ve been having fun looking for Halloween ideas! I always like trying new ways to find recipes, so having a cookbook on my phone is a pretty neat thing. What a cool world we live in!
Hoorray just launched this month, and I’d love to be your friend on the app! Click here to check out my profile – you might just recognize a few classic MomStart recipes on my Hoorray page!
