Today I needed to work, I have a lot of writing I need to do before my family flies off in different directions again this weekend (more about that really soon) but, someone else needed me more. My son!
My son turned five today and I’m almost in tears. How can my baby boy be five years old? How can that be. It seems like yesterday he was saying words like Dabow for rainbow, and crawling on the floor. Now he’s such a big boy, drinking his own special drink at Starbucks. He looks so grown up doesn’t he?
Not only did he turn five today but he also registered for Kindergarten. I took him to school, filled out all the forms and gave him a big hug. Then we went to Starbucks and ran into one of his favorite Pastors from church, who treated him to a kids steamer. After that, when we got home we played catch together, then he played a video game while I made lunch and got Zoe from the School Bus. We had lunch and went Safeway where he and his sister got a cookie. Now he’s taking a quick nap before we have friends over for a birthday dinner, and then go out to see a live show for his birthday.
Where oh where does the time go? Next year I’m going to be home alone with both of my children in school. I’m not sure what I’m going to do with myself.
