I’m currently a member of the Hormel Foods Extended Family Blogger Program and this post is part of my involvement with the group. While Hormel Foods has provided me material and necessary resources, including products and same-as-cash gift cards, to complete the activities shared on my blog, all statements and sentiment in MomStart are my own.
Did you know that this year marks the 80th anniversary of Dinty Moore beef stew? That’s right, back in 1935, Jay C. Hormel created the stew that we all know and love today. He was the son of George A. Hormel, who founded Hormel Foods in 1891 – for those of you counting, that was 125 years ago! Originally launched as Geo. A. Hormel & Co. in Austin, Minnesota, Hormel began its long career of launching classics, introducing SPAM in 1937 and Cure 81 Ham in 1963. And of course, they’re still coming up with new products all the time, like the Skippy P.B. Bites that were introduced this year. Here’s to the next Hormel-filled century!
