My husband and I married each other 10 years ago and then spent our honeymoon at The Fairmont Empress in Victoria and we LOVED staying there. The Fairmont is an outstanding place to stay with above and beyond excellent service. And the one in Seattle, the Fairmont Olympic Hotel stayed true to the Fairmont excellent standard. I thought it was quite fitting that we ended up staying at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel on our ten year anniversary weekend.
Every time I needed help I was Ms. Bishop. I called down to ask the concierge a question about where to eat locally and he told me a great place, how to get there and then said, may I make a reservation for you. Oh wow, I was so impressed, that was beyond what I expected. All I expected was where to go to eat, no direction and no reservation. My husband didn’t even expect them to know of a good place to eat at our price range.
What did we do with our time? I attended the Blogher Food Conference, stayed in a suite and when my family was visiting we slept in the very comfy King size bed. After the four of us spent one night in the same bed we decided that I would stay at the hotel and attend the conference and they would just come up and visit me during the day for some other activities….
We swam in the pool
I thought about using the gym equipment
I introduced the kids to the sauna. They were both terrified of getting burned so Miles only put his foot in for a second.
I felt like I was in a spa when I went to the bathroom in the fitness/pool area
