I love to switch up my look. I’ve been dying my hair since the late 1990s, and I’m forever trying new styles and colors. I’ve always joked that I could never get a tattoo because I’m too indecisive to even keep my hair the same color for any length of time!
I’ve got a system down now and I take good care of my locks, but I did have one memorable mishap during my “Baby goth” days when I was bleaching my hair frequently. I had my hair dyed black and red for a lot of 2003, and it looked like this:
I had decided that I wanted to dye my hair hot pink, so Jessie came over to help me. I had the brilliant idea to bleach it twice in a row, back to back, in order to get my hair from black to blonde so that the dye would take…I’m sure you can see where this is going. Cue me rinsing my hair and seeing huge chunks come out in the drain. Aaahhhh!!!!
I cried in the car as Jai drove me to a hair salon to fix the damage. They ended up cutting my long hair very short:
I had wanted to change my hair color, not lop it all off! I was very sad about the haircut and rued the day I’d decided to bleach it. Fortunately, the cut actually looked pretty cute once it grew a little bit, and I did eventually get that hot pink color I had wanted, so the story has a happy ending!
Have you ever had “Switcher’s Remorse”? Maybe it was a haircut, hair color, or even a switch in a product or service that turned out to be for the worse. I’ve had some definite switcher’s remorse after changing cable/phone/internet bundle plans too, and those always involve such a nightmare of paperwork…at least I can just throw a wig on if I regret my hair choice. 😉 Fortunately, Verizon is making it easy to soothe your remorse, by offering a “Welcome home” offer that makes it easy to swap your cell plan back to Verizon from your current provider. Click here to learn more about the offer, which includes a $200 phone trade-in and $100 bill credit.
When have you encountered “Switcher’s Remorse”? Ever had a really tragic haircut? What style were you rocking in 2003? Weigh in below in the comments and let’s laugh at our regrettable moments!
