Marvel does everything big, no gigantically! That includes the size and elegance of their red carpet and world premiere experience. Last week for the Guardians of the Galaxy event they took over the entire street on Hollywood Blvd.
I had to capture a picture of the bloggers all on the carpet taking photos of course!
And my favorite spot on the carpet was here…
The cast of Guardians of the Galaxy is full of some of my favorite actors. For one I’m a huge fan of Doctor Who. So seeing Karen Gillan on the red carpet was pretty awesome, even though I only got a picture of her back.
It was a crowded event because everyone that was anyone in the Marvel family was there.
The movie was also an out of this galaxy experience.. From the time you sit down to the time you get up it’s almost non-stop action. The movie will pull on your heart strings, then release you with humor. I also found that there were some intense moments and some serious moments and then there was the humor again to keep from feeling too deeply which I kind of loved. I really love how Marvel keeps so much humor in their movies it’s a life saver sometimes. I mean I cry at almost every single movie.
The first story was the story about a boy/young man that lost his mother and found a new family. This movie focuses on his dad and the relationship he wished he had only to find that everything he needed was right in front of him. Well, that’s the gist of it but the story is much broader than that of course because there are aliens of all kinds that arc this story out even further in the Marvel universe.
I will not call this movie better than the first, I will say it’s a different story. It doesn’t quite stand alone but it can’t be judged one movie better than the other. Both Guardians movies are excellent and worthy of watching. So go see it in theaters. At least you have to see baby Groot.
Guardians of the Galaxy is in theaters May 5th.
