Open Season: Scared Silly

Gift card & product provided.

Confession time: I’ve never been camping. Jai and I have been thinking about taking a fishing trip later this year, so I may dip my toe in the water by “Glamping” in a cabin – I need somewhere to plug my flat iron in, after all. 😉 But I do love getting out into the great outdoors and having an adventure – just like the furry friends in Open Season!

Just in time for the 10th anniversary of Open Season’s release, fans can look forward to a brand new adventure in Open Season: Scared Silly, hitting shelves today, March 8th.

Elliot, Boog and all your favorite woodland creatures are back in a brand new, comedy adventure, OPEN SEASON: SCARED SILLY. When a case of mistaken identity leads both humans and animals to believe there is a monstrous werewolf on the prowl in Timberline National Forest, former hunter Shaw seizes on the opportunity to re-open open season. With Shaw on the loose and all the animals at risk, it’s now up to Boog, Elliot, and Mr. Weenie to face their fears, track down the elusive werewolf, and get open season closed permanently.

The Blu-ray™ and DVD releases will be packed with bonus materials including all-new featurettes, bloopers, a director’s commentary track, and an Inside Sony Pictures Animation profile of director David Feiss.”

Blu-ray™ Combo Pack includes:
· Stepping into the Spotlight – Mr. Weenie’s Process
· Blooper and outtakes
· Scaredy Pants: The Fears of OPEN SEASON: SCARED SILLY

DVD and Blu-ray™ include:
· OPEN SEASON Super Speedy Re-Cap
· Feature Commentary with Director David Feiss
· Director profile – David Feiss

Directed By: David Feiss
Screenplay By: Carlos Cotkin
Voices By: Kathleen Barr, Trevor Devall, Garry Chalk, Will Townsend, Melissa Sturm, Donny Lucas

I’ve only ever been camping once and I went to my friend to a pretty nice campground. We kind of cheated because we slept in a camper instead of a tent and basically played video games 75% of the time but it was still pretty fun!

Once when we went camping everyone else went down to the lake while I stayed at the campsite. I was so enjoying being alone in the quiet and the dark that I didn’t light any lanterns. That is, until I happened to look up and around me and noticed dozens of sets of yellowish eyes focused on me! Raccoons, raccoons, raccoons, just sitting there in the dark, just watching me in the dark. Very creepy, so I lit the lanterns, and had a good story to tell when the humans returned!

My best memory was when my sons were little and we went to Mill Bridge Village Camp Resort and it was a amish town that had 1738 Herr’s Grist Mill and the 1844 Covered Bridge (longest in Lancaster County PA It had a one room school house and a bunch of other things that I cant remember exactly. The amish people who owned it would bake and can foods and sell them at the campground. They had day and nightly activities which we all enjoyed greatly. I need to go back again since its been about 20 years since we went.

I never really did a lot of outdoors type things growing up, but around five years ago I was in Spain visiting my brother and he took me and some of his friends camping for a few days, then as soon as we got back we went skydiving together. One of the best experiences I’ve ever had. Being out in the middle of the sky up around 15,000 feet was certainly relaxing.

My parents LOVED to take us camping when we were little! My 4 brothers and I weren’t huge fans back then LOL .. But over the years, as we’ve gotten older, we have come to realize what amazing memories came from those trips and how close-knit it kept us as a family. I have 2 little ones of my own, and carry out that same tradition with them, that my parents did with us. Gives a nice break from technology, too! 😉
