It can be easy to feel discouraged when you read the news and think about all of the problems and tragedy in the world. Facing these issues and creating real change often seems impossible – so how do we make a difference?
The Microsoft Challenge For Change contest tackles this question by challenging young people between 13 and 25 years old to come up with an idea to address social issues in their community through technology. The grand prize winners received a $2,500 stipend to fund their idea along with a trip to Nicaragua to learn about creating change. The Challenge For Change contest is a part of the Youthspark initiative to help empower young people.
This year’s winners have been announced, with entrants from all over the globe who submitted ideas for tackling issues from health care to education.
