Encyclopædia Britannica®, in partnership with Tek Nēk Toys, Inc., launched its first interactive Britannica Kids touchTab. The touchTab is an educational tablet that inspires kids to learn interesting facts about various subjects with hands-on interactive play and quizzes that test your knowledge. It’s light weight and very easy to change cartridges.
Each cartridge contains over 200 facts and questions, allowing children to explore 3 levels of content by answering questions in the Challenge Mode and unlocking new levels of difficulty. Children engage with the touchTab by pressing the various topics on the colorful cartridges, opening the door to engaging educational audio content. In keeping with Encyclopædia Britannica’s reputation as a leader in the development of supportive curriculum material, the touchTab capitalizes on prestigious sources to insure that accurate information is presented in a fun and engaging method.
The touchTab comes with 3 content-rich cartridges, North American Mammals, Australian Mammals and African Mammals. Additional themed-sets (sold separately) include; Exploring Space, Incredible Earth, Amazing Ocean Life and Days of the Dinosaur.
It is the perfect item to keep children entertained for hours at home or on the go. The touchTab’s primary audience begins with children ages 5 and up. The Britannica Kids touchTab and all additional themed cartridges are currently sold at Target.com and will soon be available at other retailers such as Walmart.com, Toyrsus.com, Amazon, Fingerhut, and Sensational Beginning. The touchTab has a suggested retail price of $39.99. The only thing that I don’t like about it is that it doesn’t have a head phone jack.
